Surrealistic Pillow
Jefferson AirplaneA classic. I def see how this is foundational to the entire genre. Grace Slick is clearly the highlight with White Rabbit and Somebody to Love being the obvious standouts.

This dude can do everything. Thought I had pretty decent understanding of the Paul Simon "oeuvre", just from the big hit singles and his general existence in Pop culture and my parents' radios. But diving into this really expanded my view of his talents and impact. Assumed I would enjoy this but still surpassed expectations.
Meh this is not for me. Definitely a distinct vibe and I respect the specific niche this lives in, but I'm just admitting this is not something I'd go for.
Was late to the party on these guys but was way into all the subsequent influences. Really fun here
Maybe I've heard this wayyyyy too much. Definitely genre defining but I rarely find myself seeking this out.
Always feel like I'm missing something. I consider myself a rap fan but now saw how Jay-Z was at the top. Just not for me I guess.
So so good
Quincy Jones for President of the Universe
Hell yea. Would definitely not have been on my radar. Although Sturgill Simpson has been a recent favorite of mine and now I can clearly see a straight line from Waylon to Sturgill. Glad to have this in my rotation now.
I generally like the idea of "prog rock", but this one doesn't do it for me and I'm struggling to put my finger on why exactly.
Meh. I really enjoy the image of these guys. Dave Grohl is an enjoyable personality and I appreciate that he appears to straddle the line between "rock star" and "family man". This band definitely is consistent with staying power. They write hits. Seeing them live is a legit enjoyable experience. However with the records I don't find myself seeking them out that much. It's quality rock pop that is pleasing all around, and especially fun live - but maybe a little generic when it comes to deciding what I wanna blast in the car or space out to in the headphones. Much respect though.
Eh not really feeling this
Def more a fan of what's the story morning glory
Not Stevie's best but any Stevie is good Stevie.
One of my all time favorites
