1001 Albums Summary

Relationship between artist and guitar feels intimate throughout. Folky vocals simple but effective.

Gentle but haunting. Guitar play is raw and bright - folkier than the 70s albums.

Influential (blues and grindy guitar laid groundwork for Zeppelin, metal in general, etc), but this is just not aging well for me. Feels as detached from enjoyable relevance as current pop rock for which it's heavily derivative. Beatles and Beach Boys both more palatable contemporaries for my tastes. The "rock & roll bad boy" vibe that features heavily in this project (riffs, bass lines, lyrics, Jagger vocals) feels authentic, but trite and outdated.

Iconic album. Weird hanging belt.

Lots of moving pieces. Funk, punk, hard rock. Some early ska vibes? Soulful vocals. There is a brief riff at the end of "Change" that Lana Del Ray seemed to inadvertently steal in her song "A&W"

Love the versatility. 80s metal, pop-rock melded together nicely. Genesis and Metallica vibes at the same time, which in this case is oddly intended as a compliment.
