The flute on I talk to the wind is everything. Hadn't heard any of this apart from 21st century schizoid man before. Wigging out and jazzy with it. It's pretty good but probably won't be listening to this on the regular. But in a certain time and place this is sweet and the flute and mellotron make it 👌

Live! by Fela Kuti
May 08 2024

Lovely to have an excuse to listen to this. Is there anything better than Fela for a road trip?

Protection by Massive Attack
May 10 2024

Some of these songs are ok. A bit like wallpaper - you don't notice anything's there after a while..but some are actively cringe and it was a struggle not to skip. Maybe you had to be there. Best track: Spying Glass

Funeral by Arcade Fire
May 11 2024

Hard to separate out feelings and memories associated with this album and appraise it rationally. Now I feel you need to be in a certain mood to appreciate it and maybe my affection for it has dimmed slightly with time. Still a classic. 4.2

May 13 2024

Not my cup of tea really but there are some nice piano and guitar bits on the more upbeat tracks. Second half better than the first. 2.5 - middle of the road this one

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
May 14 2024

Just a fun party album with that 90s hip hop vibe you love and Snoop's languorous vocals just 👌 - prob like a 7/10. (Unless I can find a way to edit existing reviews these are all going to be a bit inflated)

Fever To Tell by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
May 19 2024

4.5 still sounds great and so fun

All Mod Cons by The Jam
May 22 2024

Actually really liked this to my surprise. Can see where the libertines get some of their sound from. Couple of dudes but mostly bangers

The Coral by The Coral
May 23 2024

I used to really like the Coral and this is a decent album. I prefer the invisible invasion. This is probably a 3.5.

Vivid by Living Colour
May 27 2024

2.5 rounded up to 3. Glad I listened to this but can't see it happening again

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
May 28 2024

Really nice sequencing of songs, creative and just a vibe. Not a perfect album but great for sure. Loved this when it came out and it stands up. Could even be 4.5

The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips
Jun 04 2024

3.5 rounded up. some great songs on here but I don't love it as much as I once did

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
Jun 05 2024

Nice vibes. Don't like live albums that much although this is charming in parts. September Rain and Honeysuckle Rose my faves. Maybe a 3.

Suede by Suede
Jun 06 2024

Could even be 4.5. surprised how much I liked this!

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Jun 08 2024

It's genuinely great then and now. Solid 8/10 even tho it's not my usual fave genre

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Jun 09 2024

I love Coat of Many Colors and a couple of other songs. One of my preferred country albums it's just this isn't my genre really

The White Album by Beatles
Jun 11 2024

What can you say... More ideas on one side of this album than you might get in 5 years from another artist.

Come Find Yourself by Fun Lovin' Criminals
Jun 12 2024

Cringe album. Two stars for humour and mild nostalgia.
