David BowieLiked Moss Garden as reminder of time in Japan. V Schneider my favorite. Surprised so much instrumental as I usually love Bowie’s sultry voice. Wanted to enjoy Neuköln for the German tie-in, but didn’t 😔

1. Liked Moss Garden as reminder of time in Japan. V Schneider my favorite. Surprised so much instrumental as I usually love Bowie’s sultry voice. Wanted to enjoy Neuköln for the German tie-in, but didn’t 😔 2. Not much of the piano I’m used to in conjunction with Ray Charles, but really impressed with his fine vocals and these country songs didn’t seem twangy to me. Enjoyed more than expected. Especially liked the first selection on volume 1, You Don’t Know Me.
3. Much of this wasn’t a new listen, since Paul D and I hit this up in parks, and on car rides often, but did pick up on three lesser known that I enjoyed, third stone from the sun, remember, may this be love. Is this Love or Confusion reminded me, theme-wise, of Dyslexic Heart ♥️ 😊.
Lonely in Your Nightmare and Last Chance on the Stairway were new standouts for me.
Had. No. Idea. What a masterpiece with glimpses of so many styles and genres of music throughout. Incredible rapping prowess AND multifaceted singing voices with range and soul. So glad to learn of The Score.
Had. No. Idea. What a masterpiece with glimpses of so many styles and genres of music throughout. Incredible rapping prowess AND multifaceted singing voices with range and soul. So glad to learn of The Score. Brothers in Arms: Listened to songs I hadn’t heard before because some were overplayed in the 80s. Of these, enjoyed Why Worry and The Man’s Too Strong. Title track is also solid and wasn’t overplayed for me in the day. Songs are great instrumentally and Mark drops an awesome lyric here and there, to be sure. Still can’t beat Romeo and Juliette in my book, though.
Incident at Nashabur. Never heard. New-found favorite. So many different moods in one song. So happy to have found it. Santana is a genius. Someone I don’t turn to often, but really enjoy, so should learn to. Smooth rocked my young mother early 2000s world in the Jerz.
Yeah. Just no. Not a honky nor a tonky type person. Tried a couple. Made it through the whole title track. Didn’t kill me. There’s my positive review at trying something new 😊.
Black Steel, Pumpkin, Brand New You’re Retro were favorites. Echoey, layered, mystical tracts with a clear, pleasing singing voice and Tricky’s spoken lyrics often trailing in the background. Brand new exposure, which is always appreciated. Variety/Spice and all of that.
Never listened to an entire jazz album before. Not a genre I’ve explored. Definitely pleasant. More as background music than full focus, but a good intro and exploration of something new to me. Encouraged me to take a peek into his history and other musical works. May just hit up Thelonius in the future when my brain wants to visit some unique instrumental pathways.
Hardcore punk is not really my scene, but great bass riffs and for what punk epitomizes, it’s all there. Good music to be pissed too, fast and edgy, but just not my go to listen.
Was a huge Police fan in the early 80s, concerts and all. Somehow they did not last with me as a band I continue to seek out as a senior 😝. Favorite was Bring on the Night on this album. Liked ZM, OdA and GITM better back in the day, and lack of longevity brings my rating down as well.
A favorite from back in the day. Sooo many amazing songs. So much talent in vocals, arrangements, instruments. Lovely to revisit and feel the places music can easily recall in your life…
WOW. Had no knowledge of Shuggie, but loved this brief masterpiece. His rhythms kept part of my body in continual movement and his clear, sweet voice was pleasing on the non instrumental songs. I’ll listen to more Shuggie. Glad for the intro.
Gorgeous, silky voice. Not as country as expected. Would listen again and more.
Just loved. Great songs. New fan. Will be visiting often.
Not remotely their best effort and I’m a huge Who fan.
Still love his soulful, raspy voice like from back in the day. Wishing Well still my favorite, but a couple new ones to listen to: Rain and the cover of Dance Little Sister. If it’s true Michael sabotaged his career, lame, but I can see why. Terence was hotter than Michael ever hoped to be.
Nothing I would typically listen to, but she has a lovely, clear voice and a sultry, positive vibe that is super pleasant to listen to. Glad I took the beach samba journey.
I know she's a legend and respect that. Just did not work for me.
Really got into this band. Not a song I disliked although don’t think I remember truly hearing any of them before. Driving guitar, punchy, punky lyrics, worked for me.
