Iconic pop album, will have you recognizing hit after hit as you ride through the album.
The album has an interesting mix of songs. Bordering on punk, was shocked to find out the song you hear on the radio on 2024, Blister in the Sun, was written in the early 80s.
Banger after banger after banger. Phenomenal record, with a variety of great styles and tunes.
Decent herbs, pretty strong together. It's too bad these guys hated each other because they sure make beautiful music.
Phenomenal tracks, front to back, make up this fantastic album.
6 stars.
I don't quite understand the culture inspiring the music.
A few good tracks in the middle, without dropping any N words or mentioning selling cocane or using guns to solve problems.
Cohen hadn't quite found his deep silky smooth voice on this debut album.
A fun, upbeat pop album. Not a huge fan of Cyndi's voice. A couple big classic hits you still hear on the radio today.
Another fantastic Bowie album, filled up with bangers.
Loved the chill ambient vibes, reminiscent of Vangellis, mixed with some soft version of electronic of the French gods Daft Punk.
A brilliant debut album. Will check out more from these guys another time.
Frabk showcases the time tested loathing of something you help create.
I thunk it's especially funny knowing the Freaks became the boomers we have to deal with today. It's like they fell into a mirror machine and took the criticisms from Zappa too seriously.
A solid album, showcasing Adele's powerful voice. A bit letdown that she's still on the heartbreak train of her fantastic album 21.
A decent album, not the Stones' best work, bit back and forth through out.
Feels a lot more rebellious than their contemporaries, but not quite punk. A definite breakaway from Rock and Roll into just plain Rock.
Another great Bowie album, with a few bangers and very little chaff.
Quite a few cool tracks on this record. /A lot/ of N words, though 'a lot' may actually be an understatement.
Highlights: King Kunta, both tracks with Thundercat were absolute bangers, Wesley's Theory and These Walls, and The Blacker the Berry.
Interesting almost punk mix of electronic, and blending of other genres.
Some good licks, and cool dueling guitars.
Can't get enough Trent Reznor or NIN. Love these guys' sound.
Not familiar with these guys. Sounded a little sleepy for me. Struggled to find anything memorable.
One of my favorite albums from this time period.
Phenomenal horns and saxophone in these bangers. For all the drama and odd cultish behavior from Fela and his followers, he sure makes some good tunes.
Best of the Black President is a great compilation of his works, that showcases a lot more than a couple tracks.
Great, funky album. Super fun and upbeat.
Iconic sound, with a few big hits. Sting brings his funky bass and slightly odd accent.
Calming folk tunes. Bit of French lyrics mixed in a song or two.
Really strong opening album from the Foo Fighters. A good variety of sounds and a few good bangers.
Surprisingly fun album. Never heard of these guys before.
An interesting album, with a few funky riffs and chilling piano throughout.
Listened to the Very Best of the Gershwin Song Book. As good as Ella's voice is, I can't imagine listening to a three and and quarter hours long album.
Not super memorable.
Interesting sound from these guys. Some songs were almost punk and others were clearly rock and roll. Kinda interesting, and maybe a bit disappointing they didn't make any more music after this.
Definitely getting Oasis type vibes from these guys. Not hearing any of the Neil Young stated on the Wiki page.
Not bad, pretty chill Brit pop-rock.
One of my all time favorite albums. Completely full of great songs.
Great first album from an artist with a huge catalog of great music.
Pretty good alternative album. Interested in hearing more of their stuff.
Decent album, kinda folky and dreamy. Not as up-beat and pop-y as some of her other stuff.
Fantastic album, great variety, almost every song an absolute banger.
I've never listened to these guys, other than their radio singles. Was pleasantly surprised by their sound on this debut album.
Quite the bangin live album.
Good album. Recognized most of the his from this one.
Pretty unmemorable album. Find for some soft background music you're not really listening to.
Really pleased with this one. Could see myself listening to this in the future. Hear a few different bands I like.
Some decent funk rocking. A bit odd in places, but still pretty fun.
Fantastic album from The Doors. A few of my all time favorite songs on this one.
Definitely sounds ahead of it's time. A cool blend of punk, alternative, and rock.
Pretty eclectic sound. Spans an odd range of genres and does none of them justice.
Pretty fun album. Incredible list of personnel who helped record this album.
A lot going on here. Musically, this one is a banger. A ton of wicked licks and drums. Lyrically, I can't get this. Hip hop def isn't for me. From drugs and gang banging, being a general POS to women, to then spouting off about Jesus and family love. The "comedy" if that's what the whole anti-education stuff is super cringy, but aligns with his Trumpian weirdness.
Decent album, Otis has a fantastic voice. Didn't really resonate, soul is a bit slow and winding for me, but the horns are great.
Sounded like a really cool concert.
Some awesome songs on this album, a few big misses though.
Great album, with some quality bangers.
Really cool album. Sounds like this inspired a few of my favorite bands.
Pretty weird album. Some really good tracks, a few miss tracks.
Phenomenal album. Every song unique and extremely catchy.
Pretty good light soft-pop album.
Definitely not my cup of tea.
Few good songs, lots of elevator music.
Loud, boisterous, fast punk-ish rock. Think I could dig it later when in a specific mood.
Surprisingly fun album. Didn't realize this band did 'There She Goes'
