Talking Heads 77
Talking HeadsTimeless really, 47 years old and could be released today. Contains the classic Psycho Killer a track so fresh it would be a hit if released in 2024.

This is beyond rubbish. What drivel. Like a soft rock Cranberries rip off. Hate it
Boring is being kind. No passion or emotion even with terribly serious subject matter. Not sure why it made this list
Absolute classic. The fusion of drum, bass and rap. Brilliant. Unfinished symphony - BOOM!
Sorry - No nonces. Pass. Got any Rolf Harris Albums? How about Gary Glitter?
Very dated. Maybe meant more back then. Not sure it would make this list if being compiled now. That awful soft rock, white mid west easy listening FM station stuff that clogs the airwaves
Lovely. A timeless fusion of swing, blues and country showcasing this amazing voice. Brilliant
Cure lite. At best. Poppy and reflective of the era. Doesn't deserve to be on this list
God bless this lady. I personally loathe C&W but her mix of traditional country and her gospel/church roots does not compel me to turn it off ASAP. Genuine feeling and emotions as she sings. Deserves its place here over others.
What absolute drivel. Listen before you die? Id have been happy to miss out. A crappy Siousxie tribute band playing folk rock trying to pass themselves off as post punk. Quite close to the worst album I've ever heard.
Brilliant. Not a bad track on the album and the Soul/Funk/Rock of the era is still as vibrant today as it was 50 odd years ago. Influential but also danceable.
Certainly didnt expect to find "important" Brazillian albums but there you go. Bit tedious? Not my thing at all
Concept prog-rock for 1970's Uni students. Not absolutely terrible and the flute isnt as bad as other reviewers might think. Lindisfarne meets Pink Floyd maybe? Not an "important" album and probably deserves its place
The band that the Dropkick Murphy's wanted to be. Great poetry and a blend of Irish Folk and post punk. Shane McGowan taken too early. Bloody loved it
"I was dreaming when I wrote this" Just fucking brilliant. Prince is up there with Elvis, Lennon and McCartney etc as a true great. Deservedly in this list and quite possibly top 10. "All bangers, all the time" as Kendall says in Succession 5 because I cant give it more.
Truly terrible electronica. Just so predicatable and tedious. The sort of shit a club plays at 9pm when no one is in yet. 1 because thats as low as you can go.
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Iggy pop is 77 - how did he ever last that long? Down on the Street is my favourite track. Protopunk at its absolute finest.
What uninspired drivel this album is. Beyond hated it. What a dreary decade. Can I give it zero
Sorry. Influential it may be but Pink Floyd meets art school improv group is not my thing. Sounds like an acid trip and maybe that's what you need to enjoy it. Not for me
A true classic. 5 all day long. Stevie Nicks vocals are timeless and this album has to be in any collection. Shows what copious amounts of drugs and hatred can create. Brilliant
Every track is pretty much the same. Safe, tame middle of the road jangly pop that harmonises and offends no one.
Samey and boring . Clean cut young white people who your gran would have loved. Cant stand this. Hippy shit - glad no one even thinks making this horrible bland music is a good idea any more
Really good stuff. Unusual for music this new to actually have any originality and not be recycled pop designed to be forgotten in minutes
Synthetic Radiohead. Just so sterile and uninteresting.
I had never heard of her but how beautiful. She has a great voice and this is a well constructed and excellently produced album. Released 64 years ago and it captures the musical tones of the era really well while blending the African influence. Brilliant
"Can I borrow a feeling" by Kirk Van Houghton vibes. It isn't "waiting to be discovered" it's just horrible and shouldn't have been anywhere near this list.
Disco at it's very finest. A while since I listened right through and even longer since I danced to it. Doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. Just banging dance music. Rhythms hardwired into brains of people who have never heard it.
100% absolutely deserves to be in this list. A classic and every track brilliant.
Awful pop
Pretentious art school wankers meet Y2K high school rock. Not terrible just a typical album of the era.
Every so often you listen to an album that is a pure pleasure. Brilliant fusion of African rhythm, fund with rock overtones An absolute classic and I feel better for having heard it. Shut up and take my 5
Interesting hill billy punk. Ok I guess, not a favourite. Musically good and well put together. Vocalist ruins it.
Haven't listened for some years and this has horribly dated. Twee, Lloyd Cole clones. If it doesn't age well it isn't a classic
Brilliant. Brought joy to my day. Never heard it before and loved it .Wonder if this influenced early Jazz Funk pioneers like the Crusaders? Shut up and take my 5
No, not having this. Awful high school rock band with terrible vocals. Get in the bin. Boring is the nicest thing I can say about it
What could possibly have got this drivel on the list. Sound like the worlds worst high school band tuning up in someones garage (badly)
Boring just beyond boring
This has really dated. Very samey.Emo White Rap Rock. Best consigned to the waste bin of history and never spoken about again.
Brilliant - I bought it and I still love it.
Why does drivel like this make the list? Too many ageing hippies who think this stuff is relevant to anyone. Hated it.
Interesting album. Not my style at all. Early yacht rock for Rednecks? Up on Cripple Creek is an ok song but rest is pretty meh.
