Mothership Connection
ParliamentLot of cool riffs, thick bouncy bass and more funk than you can handle. Songs often drag for too long than they probably needed to. Funk might be the most aptly named genre though....

Really cool album, might not be his "best", but there is something about Dylan where his music either works, or it doesn't quite get there. A few tracks don't quite stick the landing for me, but overall there's some really great tunes that have you scrunching your face as guitar bends and harmonica slides shape blues and folk sentiments into something that seeps warmth.
Really disjointed scoundscape. Ranging from unfiltered punk with 'precious'; into slow ballad masterpiece 'brass in pocket' with a banger finish of 'mystery achievement'. The whole album is underscored with a bass guitar that won't stop "noodling" and sometimes it works like the aforementioned album closer, other times its distracting. With a mix that just feels like it was done by a 13 year old who cranked every dial up the entire middle of this album is skippable. Overall, I'd say there were only 3 solid tracks in a sea of mediocrity.
Banger after banger - "this is love" entered into the pantheon of great tracks to listen to on a train. Bit of a flat section as she exhibits her inner Leonard Cohen with "horses in my dream" which I found to be quite lacking in charge. Thom Yorke compliments her voice very well on other tracks however, to create a more morbid and morose vibe when required. Never listened to PJ Harvey before, can safely say I will now.
Starting off with "Sympathy" is such a bold choice, there is no way the next track can live up to that standard, ironically the next track "no expectations" lives up to its name - way too boring and country-coded to be a pleasing follow-up; and unfortunately most of the album continues this trend. Street fighting man is still a cool stand out track, and stray cat blues has something fiesty kicking in the tangy chord progressions. Overall, this album is so bland, it hurts my inner stones fan.

Liked the "big band" sound, pretty funky and groovy - not sure what the "singer" was up to.
Really cool band I'd never heard before. Kind of like if bowie fronted new order
This starts and I'm like 'oh boy I forgot how GOOD this song is'; track 2 gets on, and I'm like 'oh boy I forgot how GOOD this song is'; track 3 begins and I'm like 'this is it, isn't it?' Yep, 2 tracks of absolute candy magic and the rest is pure filler. My favourite lyrics though were: " I bet you we can pop like we've never popped it before, Why we keep comin' back for more and more for sure (sure), It's cool Britney when we get down on the floor, yeah, And we go on and on until the break of dawn" At the time of recording, Britney Spears was 17...yeeesh
And see people, they don't understand No, girlfriends, they can't understand Your grandsons, they won't understand On top of this, I ain't ever gonna understand How this band defined and inspired like 10 years of incredible rock that time already wants to forget ever happened
Genuinely great album, probably would have been 5 stars if it wasn't for a couple of tracks that let the 40 minute's of pure bop down
There's good to great songs on this album but some tracks, at least on Spotify, have a bizzare mix(?). Its like they've boosted Elvis' voice and just kept all the other instruments at a certain level making a cocktail of indistinguishable noise. I do like Elvis and the Attractions, even got to see them live once and they killed it. But unfortunately, this album is broken
I've listened to a lot of Joni Mitchell's, so it's quite strange to hear an album full of mediocrities
Some world beating tracks in this, but also Roger Taylor wants to put his dick in his tailpipe
The 2 "all timers" on this album make up 2/3 decent tracks. The other being money changes everything. 3 tracks don't make a "good" album.... Nevermind a must listen too Remember when cyndi lauper was in wwf? she peaked 2/5
Pretty cool production and backing music, but Snoop's lyrics and cadence becomes fairly repetitive and redundant after a handful of tracks
Chill out to this, and you're automatically cool for 45 mins
Like a pack of Gorillaz b-sides that weren't good for an album for that particular super group. Whilst there is nothing wrong with the album, there is nothing of worth here: bland, insepid, and inoffensive
Me: this album's 5 stars You: you took the words👏 right👏 out of my👏 mouth 👏👏👏
The second this album begins, you know you're off. To something special
Nothing inherently wrong about this album, just every song is derivative of its predecessor
Give me driving bass, soaring harmonies, and dispairingly depressing lyics any day plz
After Geddy Lee says "and the meek shall inherit the earth" there's a couple of bars consisting of pure elite riff. Then Neil Peart comes in with possibly one of the greatest fills ever put on record. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Motorhead crawled out of hell and its glorious
Meandering at times, and I didn't think you could have too many bends in guitar licks. But the good tracks are very good
