American Idiot
Green DayNot what I usually listen to, so missed a lot of the lyrics. Recognized a couple of songs.

Love this album, came out the year i graduated and i went to see beck and no doubt at the shoreline not long after. Listening to it again, i was struck by the consistent tone no matter the song.
I know this is a classic and many people enjoy it. I'm sure it's amazing. I had to stop listening about 30% through the album. For me, it felt like being aggressively fucked in the ears. Not pleasant.
Pretty interesting and I can hear its influence in some of the music I really enjoy, but not super enjoyable on its own.
I remember these songs from MTV in the 80s. Catchy, but never really vibed with them
Makes me want to take x and walk around Burning Man circa 2000 again.
Never heard of this, since I spent this era watching Yo MTV Raps. I was surprised by the overwhelming impression that I'd heard every song before. The music is good and goes down easy, but it tastes like a mayonnaise and lettuce sandwich on Wonderbread.
Jesus, how was this guy so fucking popular? The music and lyrics are amazing, I just can't stand to listen to the thin, reedy, whiny intonation. I'll try again when my ears stop bleeding.
14 days in and I received the first new-to-me album that was worth listening to! This album was amazing - driving and immediate; visceral, cryptic, pleading and powerful. The music perfectly complementing and bestowing, delivering, offering, bearing the message of the song to the listener. Nothing superfluous, everything crucial to the communication. Exquisite.
Fun album, I've always loved these guys.
Wow, this was really good!
This was surprising and amazing.
An assault on the ears, in kind of a good way. Not sure I'll look for it again, since it seems weird for the sake of being weird.
Feel like having your heart broken? Have an afternoon to kill? Go ahead and spend some time with this one, but give it the time it's due. Bonus points if it's raining outside.
Fuckin love this album, lots of memories here. It's a vibe, tho. Little dark, little uncomfortable; mesmerizing soundscapes.
At first, I thought "Not so bad; not was I was anticipating"! The songs seemed interesting and I was willing to give it an honest go. By the 6th song, I heard myself ask "How long is this going to go on?". My friends and I used to make fun of party DJs whose sets droned on calling them DJ "I-Only-Have-This-One-Record". Similar story here. What was interesting at first turned stale quickly. Maybe it's time for the "We-Only-Have-This-One-Sound" Band
Wow, pretty good!
Are you kidding? 5 stars. No question.
Jesus, how many different people wrote the songs on this album? Bubblegum pop to existential dread from song to song; it's pretty jarring. The songs that hit, though? Holy shit. Just put those on a playlist and leave the rest.
Such wall. Such sound.
So. Many. Ballads.
F*ckin great. Go! is one of the few songs my daughter and I can both groove to. Just great. Listen to it!
So much new age on this list. I hear Duran Duran, Shuggie Otis, Talking Heads, the Cure, too many others to list. I've got no emotional connection to it but it's interesting.
This sounds like I'm strapped to a chair that's turning counter-clockwise while oversaturated, single-tone tiki head, palm tree and surf board projections spin in the opposite direction. I can't close my eyes and I'm being force-fed a pina colada. Some might call it a good time, but I feel nauseous.
Pretty good, man.
