Creedence Clearwater Revival
4/5
Solid album. Love me some CCR. Classic americana rock baby!
4/5
I dug this. Jazzy and blues-y, City, Country, City was my favorite song
Jorge Ben Jor
5/5
Is this the original Taj Mahal????? If so this gets a 5 for that alone. IT IS! TAJ MAHAAAAAAAL TAJIMAHAL! I actually think it's been done better by Takanaka but still this is a great version.
Rest of the album is good.
Paul Simon
5/5
Can't say I've ever listened to Paul Simon more than Call me Al, glad I did. I enjoyed this album a lot. A rare male voice that I really liked.
The accordion was a nice touch, gave it a polka-y vibe. The lyrics were fun and light. Dug the African chants
That's a ten
A Tribe Called Quest
4/5
A lot of old jams I remember from way back, I didn't realize this was them. Solid chill background music
Nick Drake
2/5
Go listen to Gareth Dickson, he's almost indistinguishable from this guy. Style, voice, guitar. Wild
Overall kind of boring but not awful
Pulp
1/5
This album took me 4 hours to listen through. There are parts of songs I like but no songs I particularily enjoyed. More birtish rock-slop. Spilled a bunch of paint at work to Sylvia. Overall cursed/5
Beck
3/5
I actually enjoyed this album more than the last one. Though it's not really my thing I'll give it a 3
DJ Shadow
4/5
I love this type of music. Best track was Building Steam with a Grain of Salt. Not much to say
The Rolling Stones
2/5
Fine dad-rock. Nothing special though, Sympathy for the Devil is the best song and the rest of the album is pretty tame.
Pixies
2/5
Not my thing. Gigantic was good and Where is my mind is good but otherwise meh
Leonard Cohen
2/5
I liked this album less than the last one. Pretty one note and slow. I feel like a zoomer, but it was putting me to sleep
Solomon Burke
4/5
Some good ol' fashioned soul. Gonna have to check out more of Solomon Burke
Talking Heads
1/5
Not my thing. Hardly remember the album and I just listened to it
Yes
4/5
I love Yes for some reason. Maybe Roundabout and Jojo made me love them, but I dunno they're great for classic rock. No bad songs yet
Solange
2/5
Bloated, most songs are pretty similar . Good voice. Annoying interludes.
This is an opposite compliment sandwich. A compliment shit-sandwich if you will
LTJ Bukem
3/5
Fine DnB not super interesting stuff but nothing was bad.
Mudhoney
1/5
Stopped at Broken Hands, not my thing
Cyndi Lauper
4/5
I didn't think i would enjoy this as much as I did. That being said I preferred the first half of the album over the last couple songs. Still really good overall! Looking forward to any other Cyndi Lauper albums on this list
Hugh Masekela
4/5
Ya like jazz?
Christine and the Queens
4/5
I only listened to the french half but it was great. Solid album gj frenchies
Chicago
2/5
Really enjoyed the first 3 songs and then it just dropped off a cliff for me. Sad
Faust
1/5
Didn't do it for me. Just noise imo
Aretha Franklin
4/5
Sing it grrl
Worthy of her Queen of Soul title
Led Zeppelin
3/5
I was pleasantly surprised with this album. It wasn't anything great but it was good enough. First four songs were good and the rest was pretty meh, but overall fine
Beautiful Day is always a good song... but Bono is so smugly annoying. He's like a caricature of the "Imagine" video sung by those celebrities back during covid.
The rest of the album is still U2 so it's not my thing, although New York was good. Kind of pretentious
Louis Prima
4/5
Yeah I love this shit. Short, sweet, and fun.
The Monkees
5/5
I can't believe I've never heard of these guys this is an easy 5 lol. The voice and style reminds me of Bill Wurtz but not silly. Really enjoyed this album I hope the rest of their stuff is similar
The Avalanches
3/5
Had a little too much going on in some tracks. The melodies were prtty good but yeah sometimes it felt like a child was given a soundboard. Overall though, not bad
B.B. King
3/5
Pretty solid but didn't wow me
Iggy Pop
1/5
Annoying voice, annoying album, bad
Laibach
2/5
Reminds me of dungeon synth. Could be classified as that I think. Not my type of album though. Maybe I should listen with headphones next time
Fever Ray
3/5
This album grew on me. started as a 2 ended as a 3.5 not quite a 4 though. I figured the dude chose this album simply for the Vikings reference but nah it was solid
The Killers
3/5
Pretty good album. The popular songs were the best imo the rest was fine
Soundgarden
3/5
Not my thing but nothing was bad
Black Sabbath
3/5
Solid album but not amazing. War Pigs and Iron Man were the best the the rest was fine
Beth Orton
3/5
I liked it but not quite a 4. Voice was nice and I liked most of the songs but some were a little too mopey for me. 3.5
Taylor Swift
3/5
I liked it more than I thought I would. but it was a little one note for me. Pretty slow which is fine but most of the album was that way. I liked the album photo. Felt very autumnal.
Steely Dan
3/5
I was expecting more tbh but it was still fine
The Doors
3/5
Songs were a little slow and repetitive, but there were a couple bangers. L.A Woman and of course Riders of the Storm and great. Okay album
Miles Davis
1/5
Read the word jazz, then saw the art and shuddered. Nobody would have art like that on a jazz album and not have the album be free flowing jazz.
Pros: Album name
Cons: Album
The Sugarcubes
3/5
Didn't quite do it for me. Some of it was really good most of it was fine.
The Youngbloods
3/5
Solid album. Dug the funky guitars and the melodies. Not quite a 4 but pretty close
Santana
3/5
Pretty solid album nothing really popped out at me except Oye Como Va which is a classic.
Depeche Mode
4/5
The first half was fine but the latter half was great. I loved Enjoy the Silence and Policy of Truth. Pretty good album overall
Orbital
4/5
Pretty good album. I liked the mix of space vibes and eastern sounds.
Dire Straits
2/5
Not much to say it was fine
The Human League
1/5
This was annoying lol. The first song felt like a parody. The rest was just goofy and not my thing.
Aretha Franklin
3/5
Solid album but nothing really popped out at me, it felt slower than the last album I listened to.
Beatles
3/5
There were a bunch of songs on this album ranging from annoying to good. Most were fine. I will refrain from saying overrated this time but I dunnoooooooooo it's not looking good
Sade
4/5
Really solid album. Loved her voice. A few of the songs felt pretty one-note but I really enjoyed this album. I've never heard of her before this, so I might check her stuff out.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
2/5
I've always found Neil Young's voice to be annoying, but the instrumentals were good enough to avoid a 1-star
Blue Cheer
3/5
Not great but the brevity of this album saved it from a 2
Missy Elliott
4/5
I enjoyed this a lot. The hits were great and the worst songs were fine at worst.
King Crimson
4/5
Great album but it lost me near the end. Moonchild was simultaneously the best and worst song on the album. 21 century schizoid man is a great name.
The Rolling Stones
2/5
Hum drum and laaaaaaaame
The Jam
3/5
More brit-slop but not as bad as others. There were a few good songs. But I'm Different Now and Set The House Ablaze were both really good. Overall okay album
Beastie Boys
3/5
Sounded like a bunch of nerds rapping in their garage, I don't mean that in a bad way though
Elliott Smith
2/5
It felt pretty one-note. Not really a fan. Voice is nice though
Prince
3/5
I was expecting more from Prince, but it wasn't bad. Just not great
Beatles
2/5
It aint this one
Cee Lo Green
4/5
I may be alone in this but I thought it was a fun album. Good voice and catchy songs. Living Again was probably my favorite but there were really not any bad songs
Steely Dan
3/5
It's a fine album, but nothing really stood out to me. I guess Peg is good.
Jungle Brothers
3/5
Corny but in a good way. Fun rap overall
The Stooges
2/5
Not terrible but not good either. Not a huge fan of this type of rock. Sounds like something amateurs would make in a garage
Talking Heads
2/5
The songs were funny but not really my thing. The singers voice is annoying too
Stephen Stills
3/5
Close to a 4 but not quite there. I enjoyed this album but it was missing a song that really made me feel groovy baby
The Temptations
3/5
I was expecting more. It was fine and smoothe, but when I see a bunch of black dudes in sick 70's clothes with afros as the album photo I (correctly) assume the album will be a 4 or 5.
Kanye West
3/5
Almost a 4. It felt a little long-winded, especially the last song. I didn't enjoy the skits but I don't usually in music albums, but the music was pretty great
Queen
3/5
This album would be a 2 but Seven Seas of Rhye is a classic. I really think Queens hits are their best stuff, but the rest of their music really isn't my jam.
David Bowie
1/5
This album made me hate Bowie. This was just annoying. I didn't finish it
Burning Spear
2/5
A little too slow for me, not bad but just not my thing
Pulp
2/5
This felt like I was being seduced. A little slow most of the album and I can't say there were any songs I liked in particular. Kind of a fever dream this one
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
4/5
This album really grew on me. I can't say it was anything special until Hiding All Away drew me in. The next couple songs were good but then Nature Boy and The Lyre of Orpheus really rose above. I was all in at this point. Babe, You Turn Me On and Spell were the stand-outs in the latter half of the album.
It's close to a 5 but some songs were forgettable, but otherwise this album won me over.
Van Morrison
4/5
This typically would be a 3 from me but because I am listening to this on Sunday morning it gets a 4. This is a Sunday morning album for sure
Mott The Hoople
2/5
Boring, forgettable, and not my thing. Also I dislike their band name >:|
Fugees
3/5
A pretty good album. Some classic hip-hop. yeah not bad but not much to say
R.E.M.
3/5
The singers voice is keeping this from a 4 but the songs were mostly pretty good. I enjoyed Finest Worksong the most
Billy Joel
4/5
There are no bad Billy Joel songs (I don't just mean this album). I love this guy
Kanye West
4/5
Huuuuh
Great album. Quite a few songs were 5/5 but others dragged it down a bit.
I'll probably listen to this one again. Also Runaway is always a classic
Ice T
4/5
I was surprised how much I liked this album. Almost every song was a banger. The only downside I have is it could have been shorter. It felt a little long once I got to Body Count. Still, the first half of the album is full of some great rap.
Thid album is so close to a 5
Pixies
2/5
I didn't hate it but it was nothing special. Bland
The White Stripes
2/5
Wasn't a bad album but man it took me three days to get through this so I dunno what to rank it as. 3 for being mid? 1 for taking three days? Middle ground it is
Japan
2/5
This album was not bad but one song was. All Tomorrow's Parties was fucking AIDS. All my homies hate All Tomorrow's Parties!
ABBA
4/5
Really solid album! Love me some Abba
Wire
3/5
Very punk. Very British, not really my thing but I can appreciate it actually
Leonard Cohen
2/5
I'm sure some poets love this shit
Fleetwood Mac
5/5
Classic
No songs were too slow for my liking
10/10
Bauhaus
2/5
That's a no from me dawg
Dexys Midnight Runners
3/5
Not really my thing, but enjoyable enough.
Singer loves his vowels, especially O.
Would give it a 3.5 if I could but it's closer to a 3 than a 4.
Teenage Fanclub
3/5
What you do to meeee, what you do to me, What you do to meeee, what you do to me, What you do to meeee, what you do to me, What you do to meeee, what you do to me,
Alcoholiday and Is This Music are the best songs on the album.
I enjoyed the instrumentals overall but some songs were too repetitive for me. Overall, I liked it. 3/5
Beck
2/5
Wasn't my jam. Not sure why
Arcade Fire
4/5
Really liking it so far. It feels very early 2000s
Good shit
Lauryn Hill
4/5
Not huge into rap/hip-hop but every so often I find a gem.
My coworker told me she is a huge racist lol who knew
Good shit
Dirty Projectors
2/5
Stillness is the Move 5/5
Weird album overall. A little too chaotic I think for me to really enjoy it. It's like a few songs didn't want to keep a melody for longer than 30 seconds.
But I can see this growing on me over time to a 3/5 but only a 2 from me dawg
Willie Nelson
4/5
Can't help but think about how bad modern country music is when compared to stuff from the 20th century.
I don't go out of my way to listen to this older country stuff (unless I wanna feel like a cowboy) but when I do I typically really enjoy it
A Tribe Called Quest
2/5
2/5 cause I love the older slang. Didn't finish though, just not my thing
Neil Young
3/5
I feel like you had to be there to get this music. It's not great but not bad. A little boring and inoffensive. The most 3/5 possible
My Bloody Valentine
3/5
Weird but not bad. I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it. Atmospheric enough for me to enjoy it, but too distorted to really get into it 3/5
Frank Ocean
3/5
Weird but not bad. I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it. Atmospheric enough for me to enjoy it, but too distorted to really get into it 3/5
Lenny Kravitz
1/5
Lenny Kravitz has the voice of an angel.
Except it's a fallen angel.
And it's actually Satan.
And he sucks as singing.
Lenny Kravitz strikes me (and probably his dog) as the kind of guy who sings about love all the time, but also viciously beats his dog or hookers.
Album sucks lol bad voice annoying lyrics 1/5
Jimmy Smith
4/5
Awesome album to do chores to 4/5
The Velvet Underground
2/5
Heroin was an interesting song but otherwise the album was way too hippy-dippy for my liking.
Felt like it was smelling it's own farts but maybe that's just my dislike for hippie culture
The Pogues
2/5
Heroin was an interesting song but otherwise the album was way too hippy-dippy for my liking.
Felt like it was smelling it's own farts but maybe that's just my dislike for hippie culture
Various Artists
4/5
I love Christmas music this is a certified banger. It being the third of January won't stop me from enjoying this.
Red Snapper
4/5
Not sure what type of music this is but it's bitchin'.
I think I liked the first half more than the second half but either way the album was fun and chill at the same time 4/5
Might listen to this stuff on the weekends or when I have headphones to truly appreciate (or hate) the music
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
4/5
Really fun pop rock album, I haven't listened to their other stuff but I will certainly check it out.
The singers voice is great, loved her
4/5
David Bowie
2/5
Really not my thing but Golden Years was good.
Kind of annoying to be honest lol
I always appreciate Rod Stewards voice even if his music is mid. This album was good but forgettable
Guns N' Roses
4/5
Classic 80's metal, fun good music. I love the lyrics to a lot of their songs.
Mr. Brownstone and My Michelle were highlights for me
4/5
Björk
4/5
I've never listened to Bjork so this should be fun...
It's kind of weird but I like it. I dig the instrumentals a bunch too. Bjorks voice is unique and depending on the song, haunting in a good way. She reminds me of the voices in Räven by Hedningarna.
Solid 4/5
Prince
2/5
I'll be honest this was mid AF. The mainstream songs were the highlights and the rest of the album was mediocre imo.
In the war between MJ and Prince, MJ is the winner for sure. I expected more from Prince.
Dusty Springfield
5/5
Chill and beautiful music. Wonderful voice from Dusty.
I find that a lot of slower music can get a little stale for me but with the average song being only ~3 minutes long, nothing gets old or repetitive.
Didn't expect to find the origin of a sample I've been listening to for 10+ years.
Easy 5/5
Peter Tosh
3/5
I have to be in the mood for this stuff and I guess I was!
Overall a good album not too much to say on it. Brand New Second Hand was a favorite and a good way to close out the album.
2/5
His first two songs are classics but the rest of the album is a little too one note for me. I fell like if you've heard a few of their songs you've heard them all
Deep Purple
2/5
Not really my thing but also not annoying. Pretty bland honestly. 2.5/5 leaning towards a 2 though
Iggy Pop
2/5
Not really my jam, although I didn't mind The Passenger.
Not re;ated to the music but couldn't they have taken a better photo?? Creepy ass shot
James Brown
2/5
I typically love funky stuff but I didn't love the live aspect of this album. James Brown isn't really my favorite either.
Led Zeppelin
3/5
Boomer rock doesn't do it for me, mid
Isaac Hayes
4/5
Love it. Some good ol funky and lovely soul
One woman was a highlight
Scott Walker
3/5
Something my grandpa would listen to.
Made me feel like a 60's astronaut dancing among the stars so that's pretty cool but overall the music was mid
The Cure
2/5
So mid it's bad
Kendrick Lamar
2/5
I really tried but Kendrick Lamar just ruins any song he is in.
The positives: like most rap music I like the beats and melodies. Some lyrics were pretty good! I liked some of the featured artists especially MC Eiht. m.A.A.d city was a good song.
The negatives: Kendrick Lamar.
Unfortunately he is in every song so...
2/5
Deep Purple
3/5
Pretty good album but honestly forgettable other than a few classics.
Rush
4/5
Bangers man. Rush is a great band and this is probably their best album. I base that on nothing. Still 4/5
Mariah Carey
4/5
I love Mariah Carey. I am biased.
This is not a perfect album though a few songs are a miss but overall still great
Sly & The Family Stone
3/5
Normally I love some soul but some songs were a little too much for me. Still there were enough highlights (everyday people) for me to give it a 3/5
Queen
2/5
Not their best album honestly, 1 or 2 good songs but yeah it's not amazing
Primal Scream
1/5
Aggressively bad music. Probably the worst album so far. I save 1/5 for offensively bad music.
British music as a whole doesn't really work for me and this was a disaster. Utter dogshit. Imagine making this and being satisfied with the final product.
Tom Waits
4/5
Great album, reminds me of the deep southern states for some reason.
Supergrass
2/5
Other than Alright the rest was typical british blegh music. Not my thing
Adele
4/5
Not near as bad as I remembered actually enjoyable. I'm sorry I judged you so harshly Adele
Peter Gabriel
4/5
Reminded me of a mix of Phil Collins and Steve Winwood. Suprised to see it was a fairly new album cause I got hard 80's vibes from it. Overall good album
Bruce Springsteen
2/5
Kind of forgettable tbh didn't do much for me
Al Green
4/5
Great album, love this sort of music
The Afghan Whigs
4/5
I want to give this album a 5 but the first half is better than the second. If it kept the energy it had for the first half it would be a 5. Otherwise a great album
The Zombies
3/5
60's british rock oh no I'm gonna hate this aren't I?
Actually not bad, not great either but a solid album
The Black Keys
4/5
Da da da da da,
Da da da da da,
Da da da DA da,
Da da da da da/5
The Rolling Stones
4/5
Pretty good for boomer rock. I agree with Ryan
Miriam Makeba
4/5
Was a pretty wholesome and light listen. Didn't understand shit but that's the cool thing about music. You don't need to understand it to like it. The flea song was my favorite
Dion
2/5
Uninspired and boring
Wu-Tang Clan
5/5
As a certified rap hater I'll try to be open minded...
I love Wu Tang. Constant bangers. Different styles to mix it up. Fun music. That's a 10
Judas Priest
3/5
Pretty good album. Not my jazz but I enjoyed the vocals
The Undertones
4/5
I enjoyed it. A lot of the songs sounded the same to me, but that didn't hold it back. Fun laid-back 80's pop/rock
The Young Gods
2/5
I enjoyed parts of this album and the first song was great but overall it was annoying. I didn't enjoy the frenchman grunting in my ears for 40 minutes lol
ZZ Top
2/5
Typical boomer rock with a few good songs here or there. Overall low mid
Arcade Fire
2/5
I dunno this just didn't work for me really. It didn't jam for me. Folky but kind of annoyingly folky, I dunno.
Van Halen
4/5
This was really good. I get why people like Van Halen and why they have such a legacy. Awesome album
Beatles
3/5
Not near as bad as I thought. I actually enjoyed a song or two, but I still don't understand the hype. Very overrated band
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
3/5
Nice relaxing stuff but I'd put this on in the background before I'd actively listen to it again.
New York Dolls
2/5
Didn't vibe with this at all really.
Johnny Cash
4/5
Good music, fun playing off the crowd, really good album overall
MGMT
3/5
The electronic more popular songs were great but everything else was mid
Love
2/5
Whimsical and weird, but not really my thing
Jefferson Airplane
3/5
Hippie rock, mid but not bad. IwouldplaythisasbackgroundmusicandnotrememberanyofwhatIjustlistenedto/5
Herbie Hancock
4/5
Awwwww yeaaaaaah baby, groooooooovy
OutKast
2/5
Waaaaaay too long, could have made two albums out of this. The music was overall okay with a few hits, but I feel like the length made it worse. Choose a few great hits and make an album with those, reuse the rest for another album
Pink Floyd
4/5
I actually liked this quite a bit with the star being Us And Them. Chill album that I'd listen to again on a relaxing Sussday
Depeche Mode
4/5
Very 80's feel to it and I mean that in a good way. Great album with a creepy ending track
Merle Haggard
5/5
Real good country music. Could be shorter perhaps but I enjoyed every song so perhaps not. 5/5
Aerosmith
2/5
Man boomers were really one-shotted by this stuff. It's fine but really nothing special to me
Johnny Cash
4/5
Classic Johnny Cash. Nothing bad to say about this album, it's great
Duran Duran
3/5
Pretty good, I liked it more than I thought I would, but it wasn't much special. Album art is sick as hell though
Super Furry Animals
3/5
Weird and kind of all over the place, but not in a bad way. The latter half was better than the first IMO. I'll give it a 3.5/5 I wanna give it a 4 but its not quite there. Good album though
The La's
2/5
Pretty bland and forgettable, but "There She Goes" is a banger whoever sings it.
Talking Heads
2/5
The song about his building was pretty funny but otherwise the album was not my thing. Funny, but just not my thing
Marty Robbins
5/5
A classic, love the whole album. This town is big enough for both of us, Mr Robbins
Nirvana
1/5
I've never been a fan of Nivana or grunge music so this is a no from me dawg
Kraftwerk
3/5
I dig it, pretty nice background electric music. Not much to say but Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn Autobahn
Jimi Hendrix
3/5
I've never really listened to Hendrix, but maybe I will going forward. This is a groovy album, I can see why hippies loved this stuff, pretty far out maaaaaan
Leonard Cohen
4/5
I'm retarded I thought Leonard Cohen and Leonard Nimoy were the same person so I'm going into this with a different perspective. I can't stand Nimoy. I have no opinion on Cohen. Let's do this!
This album is pretty rad. Not sure I'd listen to this again but I really enjoyed it overall. Jazz Police is both a fun song and concept. JazzPolice/5
Earth, Wind & Fire
5/5
I don't even gotta listen this is a 5/5 I love this shit. Obviously I'm still gonna listen to it cause I'm just too groooOOOoooOOOoooOOOoooOOOoooOOOoooooooovy baby.
All About Love and Reasons are probably my favorite on the album, but overall this album is a hit and a bop and an all around top. I am lost in the funk
The Band
3/5
Solid chill album. Take a load off Annie!
Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
2/5
Weird and kind of funny-annoying, I'd not visit this again lol
Jazmine Sullivan
1/5
REALLY not my thing haha
I enjoyed Pick Up Your Feelings, theaux!
Dagmar Krause
3/5
Odd album, not bad. I dug the orchestra and the singer was interesting, but nothing really wowed me. Solid 3
Steely Dan
4/5
Good boomer rock. The highlights are the popular songs though, the rest of the album is good but not amazing. Still a solid 4
Bob Dylan
2/5
I've never been a fan of Bob Dylan's voice, it grates on my ears man. He makes okay music though, but I gotta give it a 2
Jane's Addiction
4/5
I've never heard of these guys before but I really liked this album. I might check out more of their stuff
Little Simz
1/5
Sorry, I couldn't finish it. Just not my thing at all
The Modern Lovers
4/5
A little same-y sounding, maybe that's just the singer, but otherwise a great album! Pablo Picasso was probably called an asshole at some point
Pink Floyd
2/5
Other than Part 2 this is a boring album, not much music that stands out to me
The White Stripes
3/5
I listened to this album 3 times and I swear I don't remember any of it. It's not bad music at all but just forgettable. 1 star for every listen
Morrissey
5/5
Love the whole thing. The dudes voice is great and the instrumentals are fun and very 80's
5/5
Roni Size
3/5
Couldn't find an album that wasn't 5 hours long so I only listened for about an hour but it was fine for D&B. Not really my jam (especially cause it's Br*tish) but it wasn't bad
Buck Owens
5/5
Some real country for real real
The Police
5/5
Can't say no to the Police. Every album I've heard is a classic.
David Bowie
2/5
Ever since The Next Day album I have started to really dislike Bowie's music. This is not an exception. Kind of annoying
Les Rythmes Digitales
3/5
Bitchin' but a little repetitive, I get that's the style though. solid
Tom Waits
3/5
I didn't like this album as much as Swordfishtrombones, but it was still good. I really dig this guys style
Talking Heads
4/5
I swear I've heard this album sometime in my childhood. It was fun and quick.
The Smiths
3/5
Fine album nothing really stood out except for the song about fat bitches
Foo Fighters
2/5
really boring
Beatles
3/5
Probably my favorite album of theirs so far. It's not great but that's an improvement. Still, it's pretty generic stuff.
Sigur Rós
4/5
Solid album, a little repetitive in some parts. Like the second song was 10 minutes it could have been cut in half IMO but otherwise I enjoyed it.
Stereolab
3/5
Kind of funky and fun reminds me of the late 90's early 2000's
Black Sabbath
2/5
Nothing really stood out, old rock. Not really my thing this time
Nas
3/5
Listened to this on Friday and didn't write down my thoughts. Had other albums to listen to ya know. Anyways you were right Steve I gave it a 3.
The Thrills
4/5
Loved the harmonica in this album and the western vibe. It's like a new-age western sound, not quite pop country, but not quite honkey tonk. I enjoyed this album a lot
Lynyrd Skynyrd
3/5
Fine rock album. Free Bird almost made this a 4
Radiohead
4/5
This was a great album and the first album of theirs I've listened to. I hope there is more on the list
Green Day
3/5
Solid album. I ended up liking it more than I thought I would since Green Day hasn't really been my thing. Are We The Waiting/St. Jimmy were really good songs.
Brian Eno
2/5
He is not okay
JAY Z
4/5
Another really good album. I've always liked Jay-Z more than most other rappers so I'm a little biased. No bad songs but the album felt a little long.
4 stars
Patti Smith
4/5
Close to a 5. I really liked this album. I love her voice, it reminds me of Gwen Stefani a little bit. Especially on Redondo Beach and Birdland.
I love a good piano in songs too. I wish it was a little longer actually.
The poetry parts I usually find annoying or jarring but she worked them in flawlessly.
Great album
Snoop Dogg
3/5
Pretty good stuff. I really liked the beats and Snoop's relaxed style. Funny dude
R.E.M.
3/5
I enjoyed this better than the last album despite the similar rating. Good album
Muddy Waters
3/5
Pretty solid blues music. Not much to say
Sonic Youth
3/5
I wanted to like this more than I did. The music itself isn't bad and I liked the vocals but maybe I'm just not in the mood for it. I dunno. Good album overall but not quite a 4
U2
2/5
Typical Bono-slop. Pretentious but not horrible
Creedence Clearwater Revival
3/5
Some good ol CCR. Good stuff
Raekwon
4/5
These skits are killing me lol Really interrupting the music and making the album longer than it needs to be.
The rapping is great though. There is something about Wu-Tang that is so much better than most of the rap I've listened to
Arctic Monkeys
4/5
Really good album actually. First time listening to their music and I quite enjoyed it!
4/5
Yeah this is a 4. Fun groovy album no bad songs, I dug the Brazilian feel to it.
Pixies
2/5
Kind of boring rock to me.
Bob Dylan
1/5
Bob Dylan's voice is just grating to me. Annoying. His harmonica is good and the songs aren't terrible but man I can't stand his singing in this album
FKA twigs
3/5
Weird but not in a bad way. I liked the vocals. I dunno what to rate this one lol I guess a 3 works
Magazine
2/5
The instrumentals were good! The rest was pretty generic brit-rock
Goldfrapp
4/5
I really liked her voice. The first song especially was a favorite. A lot of the album felt pretty same-y but not bad at all
New Order
3/5
Solid album. I liked that he used frogs as an instrument.
Marvin Gaye
4/5
Can't go wrong with mr Gaye, no bad songs but a few didn't hit as much as his more popular songs did
Throbbing Gristle
2/5
This was not terrible. I get it's mostly noise and that annoys a lot of people (including me on a few songs) but overall I didn't hate it. I listen to a lot of ambience so this was sort of like that, but just a little more unstructured and electronic(?) I guess? not sure I have the right words for this album honestly. Interesting
Beatles
4/5
Check this out: I actually liked this album haha. Their best album I've heard on this list. It started good and kind of lagged a bit in the middle but the last couple of songs were really fun. Good job Beatles you're not all mid
Linkin Park
5/5
Angry teenaged me blasted the first 2 Linkin Park albums religiously. No bad songs on this album, every song a hit, every hit a smack
