1001 Albums Summary

Off to a great start!

It's funny I remember when this album came out and "not getting it". I hadnt mastered the patient listen yet, and it took me two more albums before I gave them a second try. I remember after their second album they sold out Madison Square for a week and being blown away so next time they toured I had to see them. That was it. Wake up is obviously the best song on this lp but seeing it live 10 years later was borderline life changing 😂 i still contend they didn't peak for a few albums but there's a lot more gems than I thought when it came out. Crown of love was my favorite that I didn't know.

Have to say sadly I didn't know de la soul outside of gorillaz tracks and the ninja turtles movie. Quality album, very early 90s sound throughout. Tread water is such an excellent silly song.
