Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Jan 06 2025

I never really liked this album. I was 8 or 9 when it came out so I heard all the adults in my life play it all the time. The big hits got played out years ago. The gems are the non singles. It stands the test of time

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Jan 07 2025

Not my thing but you can hear so much of the framework for later metal bands. I especially enjoyed the harmonizing guitar riffs.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Jan 12 2025

Never did get the Bruce love

Aja by Steely Dan
Jan 26 2025
Medúlla by Björk
Jan 27 2025

Bjork is one of the most amazing vocalists and it's on display here. This is not the right starting point for listening to her though. Any of her prior albums is more musical and a more pleasurable listen. This is more conceptual, stunning at times, but takes effort to enjoy

The Bends by Radiohead
Feb 04 2025

A band's sophomore effort says a lot about their staying power. Pablo Honey was a promising start, but the jump from their debut to the bends is staggering. I have to rate this 5 stars even though the follow-up, OK Computer, is even better. I guess this is why a 5 star rating system is stupid huh?

Want One by Rufus Wainwright
Feb 09 2025

Never really gave Rufus a chance after I heard his version of Hallelujah in Shrek. Sorry, but no need for it ever to be recorded again after Jeff Buckley did it. I thoroughly enjoyed this album. Beautifully written and performed. I'll listen again for sure.

Konnichiwa by Skepta
Feb 10 2025

Finally something not for old white men - Thoughts of an old white man

Green by R.E.M.
Feb 15 2025
Viva Hate by Morrissey
Feb 17 2025

Grade A asshole. Good thing he's also an A+ musician

Abbey Road by Beatles
Feb 22 2025

Would anyone dare rate this less than a 5?

Ten by Pearl Jam
Feb 25 2025

30 years ago I'd rate this a 5. Didn't age well

S.F. Sorrow by The Pretty Things
Mar 02 2025

Probably groundbreaking for its time. Kinda corny now
