Purple Rain
PrinceDon't want to listen, it's a no from me.
Don't want to listen, it's a no from me.
Skipped the Star Spangled Banner cuz it sounded goofy. Enjoyed all of the other tracks, with my faves being Tulip or Turnip, Diminuendo in Blue, I Got it Bad and That Ain't Good, Skin Deep, Jeep Blues and Blues to Be There. The band was amazing and the crowd work was good. It was nice to hear how much the audience loves the music. Easy to listen to and could definitely picture myself listening to this in a cozy cocktail bar after a long day.
Always liked songs by the Rolling Stones so was worried I would be biased. Thankfully, Stupid Girl and Under My Thumb were such incel tunes it made it easier for me to be more critical. Mothers Little Helper was my fave from this album, always loved the guitar in it. Most of these songs were new to me and I have a couple of new faves like Goin' Home was a mood, can really relate to after not seeing my bf for 1 hour. Didn't expect some sadder ones like It's Not Easy, Take It or Leave It and What To Do. Big fan of juxtapositioning sad lyrics with upbeat instrumentals and vocals so that helped bump up the scoring.
Loved all of it, titular track was my personal favourite.
The Grave and the Constant is already a fave, really chill vibe. I Can't Get with That is a 2nd fave, Scrooby Snacks was oversold to me, it's number 3 in my list of songs on this album. Would listen to this album again.
Ob la di ob la fucking di to quote John Lennon during his scheduled takeover of the beatles. Had to skip Revolution 9 and also hated the original Honey Pie. The rest were all bangers. Personal faves are helter skelter, while my guitar gently weeps and back in the ussr.
Nebraska's a synonym for depression. Not a fan of this, all of them sounded the same to me. Boo hoo sad song boom harmonica.
Very 2000s, Malaysians on this app will be reminded of songs played in Kaison in the mid 2010s. Chilled stuff tho, good background music for reading/working but I wouldn't jump at listening to it again.
GIRLS WHO WANT BOYS WHO LIKE BOYS TO BE GIRLS WHO DO BOYS LIKE THEYRE GIRLS. The Debt Collector is what I'll be playing while vandalising ppls housing in red paint. Clover Over Dover was another fave. Good mix of songs, would listen too again and they're all bangers.
Was a bit boring, can't remember any of the songs on it besides One cuz my dad spams it. Guitar playing was amazing which has earned an extra star.
Vocalist gave me Talking Heads vibes so looked them up and surprised that they're not the same person. This wasn't really for me, a bit too ironic and goofy. I loved Praying Hands though.
Had a good start and thought some of the tracks are a bit before their time. It fell off for me towards the end. It's good background music for a chilled party though, other than that not too much to say.
Expected more wailing from a group called The Wailers. Weren't any standouts to me, felt like all of it cascaded into one long song. Enjoyed the bass in Concrete Jungle and the rest wasn't for me.
Let's Marvin Gaye and get it on. Beautiful album, loved all of it.
Only complaint is that I wanted MORE!! Love Dolly, songs were sweet and her voice is incredible as always. Also, I'm going to find those children who made fun of her and give them the chancla treatment.
Love me girl bands. Was distracted when listening to them but the guitars went hard.
Big Smiths fan but there were a couple songs I've never heard. Death of a Disco Dancer is now one of my fave Smiths songs, you can really hear how it influenced 90s grunge bands. Wouldn't be the Smiths without Morrissey being a massive drama queen in Unhappy Birthday. Can't lie but I'd enjoy it if I was in a self pity mood. I Won't Share You was a great song to end the album with. Obviously will listen to this album again. RIP Andy, absolute legend.
Good bg music for working or a chill party but not really for me.
Very funky, bit goofy. Liked most of the songs but it's nothing special for me.
Love iiiit. Will be blasting Our House when I finally own my own home, so probably never but I can imagine owning one while listening.
Not even halfway in but this is painful. Would be less of a chore if he didn't sing.
Luv grunge tunes nuff said
Wasn't bad, liked most of it with my fave being Hold On To Your Friends. Just not the same without the Smiths tho
Perfect background music when panic organising a spreadsheet that makes 0 sense
Luv me dire straits, never listened to this album though. I now have a few new favourites, also liked how country it sounded on some tracks
HES THE GREATEST DANCER, WE ARE FAMILY, WE'RE LOST IN MUSIC, ICONIC LOVED ALL OF IT STRAIGHT UP VIBES
Hello, I'm Johnny Cash. Great album, knew one or two songs from him and now have loads more songs I love
Not my fave Elvis album, but easy listening. I'll hold you in my heart was my fave
Arctic Monkeys
Never really gave The Libertines a listen which is odd cuz a lot the music I like is indie. The first few tracks were ok but the song that piqued my interest was The Man Who Would Be King. It has some great instrumentals. From there the album improved for me. Loved how Narcissist flowed into The Ha Ha Wall too, very seamless. After that I lost interest again, decent album overall but deducting points because justice for Mark Blanco and way better indie bands out there.
Fuck the police indeed. Late 80s and early 90s rap has a special place in my heart. Storytelling through the lyrics and sound mixing was great.
Definitely my kind of music. Really chill but not boring, faves were Wrong and Single.
No, just no.
