Good music to have in the background while doing chores. Very upbeat and full of hooks. The simple melodies will stick in my head for a bit. I don't think I'll go out of my way to listen again soon, but I enjoyed this album while it was on
Amazing performance from one of history's best jam bands. This album has a razor sharp blues edge and a psychedelic twist reminiscent of the Dead. This is simply one of the GOAT live albums. Few have risen to this high level of excellence.
Not for me. Well crafted with many beautiful tones and textures, but not enough groove or memorable melodies for me. I understand the mass appeal of this album, but I am not part of its target audience.

I made the decision to not listen to this album today. I am very familiar with this album. I love it and I consider it to be an all time great album, but I know that this album always makes a devastating impact on my overall mood. Incredible work of art, but one that must be approached with caution
Few vocalist will ever reach the summit of Marvin Gaye's talent. This album still stands up today as one of the most gorgeously arranged R&B albums, and Gaye's voice will stand as a gold standard for generations to come.
Deserving of being called a classic. It served as an influential blueprint for many of today's top artists and broke down barriers between audiences. However, as someone who grew up in the 2000's, I believe that if you weren't there at the time that this was released you won't be able to fully resonate with it. Hip hop has evolved so much in the decades since this album, and Raising Hell can feel a litle prehistoric as a result.
I see why this is so influential among the punk scene. I don't love it personally, it is a little rough for my taste, but Androgynous is an all timer.
Good album. It comes from a genre that I didn't grow up with, and doesn't have a deep emotional resonance with me, but there is a lot of unpredictability in this album, and that fascinates me. There is a lot that one can learn about music theory and breaking out of the creative box by listening to this album
Since I didn't know about System until after their breakup, my perception of this record is colored by hindsight. I know where this band goes from here. In my opinion, this record is outshinned by Toxicity and Steal This Album. This album has a couple of System's best songs (Sugar, Know, and Suite Pea), but I do not consider every song on here to be essential.
Fun old-school rock, r&b, and soul. Interesting that it is called a country and western album. Considering where country music has gone, this sounds quite far from the modern sound of country. Wonderful arrangements and performances all around
This album deserves respect for the high level of skill required to compose and perform these songs, but I'm not who this album is for. I find it a little inaccessible. It is more like an athletic achievement than a musical one.
When I listen to an album like Rumours I ask myself, "does music get better than this?" Seriously, does it? The instrumental arrangements, performances, tones, mixes, melodies, and grooves are all perfect. This album deserves all the accolades, acclaim, and commercial success it has.
I always feel like I'm missing sonething when I listen to The Doors. They are fine musicians and songwriters, but there is a simplicity and campy quality that keeps me from fully connecting to any of their songs. Jim Morrison is also a character I have a hard time enjoying. His reputation as an asshole proceeds his vocal talents, and on LA Woman he sounds absolutely shit faced. I smell booze when I listen to this album. Some singers sound great when they've had a few drinks, but Jim really needed to put the bottle down. Good thing Riders On The Storm was on this album or else there would be nothing here for me to compliment.
This is a fantastically creative album. The arrangement groove well yet have a dissonance that keep the ears intrigued. The vocals are theatrical and expressive, the instrumentals are punchy and deep in the pocket, and the lyrics are wonderfully abstract. The title track is one of the best Bowie songs I've heard yet. Golden Years, Word on the Wing, and Wild is the Wind are also stand out tracks
A good album, but there are different versions of these songs I prefer to listen to. In general I tend to gravitate towards live Talking Heads. The albums are a bit stiff and sterile to my ears while the live performances from Stop Making Sense and The Name of This Band are more colorful. I even prefer the Phish version of this record. The album also suffers from being front loaded. Side A has some of the best songs TH ever recorded while the back half is rather forgettable
I am not the target audience for this album. I've never been a fan of Madonna or her brand of pop music. This album also utilizes a lot of early 2000's production, which hasn't aged well in my opinion. It's also stange to me that the visual component of this album is country oriented. Nothing about the music on this album makes me think country or cowgirl
I wasn't too impressed with this one. The musicians are certainly tanlented, but none of these songs are going to stay with me.
This is a fun album. It would still sound great in a club today. The arrangements are also very creative. Each song goes through an arc, which you don't see much in modern pop production. Cool album
You can miss me with this album. The Dire Straits sound is annoying to me. I've heard their music my whole life without ever needing to seek it out, and I've never liked it.
Is this it? I have never been able to understand the hype around this album. Maybe you just needed to be there when it dropped. To me this album has no punch, no dynamics, the melodies aren't worth remembering, the drums have no life to them, and I hate the guitar sound

I see this album as a necessary step in Radiohead's evolution, but I don't believe it represents the band at a pinnacle. There are amazing compositions on here, but there are also many skips. The transition from rock to electronic music is admirable, but it is when they are able to fuse the two, like they do on In Rainbows, that I enjoy radio head the most.
I hadn't listened to this album all the way through before, and I'm glad I finally did. Every song on here had something to offer and a reason to exist. There were many songs on this album that were new to me and I have now saved to my library. It is easy to see why this album made the police the biggest band in the world and why there influence is still felt today
How can an artist possibly be this fully formed at their debut? I've know Hallelujah since I was young, but I had never listened to Grace in its entirety. This album is a work of true genius. The beauty of this album is truly indescribable and listening to is has moved me to my core.
This is an album I wish I could erase my memory of and hear for the first time again. 21 is one of the last albums I recall being truly inescapable. Songs like Rumor Has It, Set Fire To The Rain, and Rolling In The Deep were burnned into out collective subconscious and these days I have no interest in hearing them again. The tracks in this album I hadn't heard before didn't jump out to me either.
This album doesn't work for me. The eclectic influences on display here never gel into a pleasing sound and I found myself skipping through songs at a startling speed
Too sleepy to be interesting and too spacy to provide any solid grooves. I don't take much away from albums like this. A vibe is fine, but I want a little more from music than just vibe. I look for sounds that pique my interest, melodies with emotional dynamics, and grooves that make me want to move my body. I didn't find any of that here
While I may not resonate with every cut on this album the overall listening experience is wonderful. The stand out tracks like God Only Knows, Sloop John B, Wouldn't It Be Nice, and I Just Wasn't Made For These Times are among the finest songs in recorded music history
While all of the former Beatles have strong solo albums in their solo catalog, I don't believe Band On The Run is one of them. The title track is one of my favorite song that Paul McCartney ever cut, but nothing else here rises to that level, in my opinion. Overall this album is fine, but it doesn't compare to the classic Beatles albums, or even an album like Ram
Hell yeah! I got so excited when this album popped up. I love Scott Walker. From Scott I-IV to his avant garde work on Tilt, The Drift, and Bish Bosch this man has the voice of an angel (or devil), his melodies are things of beauty, andhis instrumentals are masterclasses in arranging. I already knew I loved this album and I'm happy to have heard it again once more today. There is no one else like the 30 Century Man.
I can respect this album for the milestone it is. We don't have a lot of my favorite bands without the stooges. Their influence is immeasurable. However, this album has the same short comings as a lot of early punk albums. Mainly, the production isn't that impressive or good, especially when you compare it to albums that have come out in Fun Houses' wake
This isn't an instance of an artist emerging fully formed, but Bjork is very close to in focus on this album. Compared to her later works I would describe Debut as a little messy and chaotic, but the eccentric production, stunning vocal leaps, and sensual lyrical themes are all here. Great start to her solo catalog
Very good for an alt rock album, but it pales in comparison to what Radiohead would do. Still, some of my favorite Radiohead songs are on here including My Iron Lung, Fake Plastic Trees, and High and Dry.
This album isn't for me. I enjoy Talking Heads live albums very much, but their studio albums tend to be a little sterile sounding to me. The earliest records, including this one, fall flattest for me. So, this album isn't for me, but Talking Heads is still an amazing group, and Stop Making Sense is an all time great album
