Larks' Tongues In Aspic
King CrimsonOutstanding. Musicianship, lyrics, range of tempos and volume. Perfect.

I am surprised by how thin the songwriting is. Like they thought of 1 idea quickly and just recorded it. The lyrics are banal. The guitar work is feeble considering the hype and the vocals are barely in key. I am mystified by this albums inclusion in the list.
The production and the arrangement is the standout. The whole album works much better on the up tempo tracks.
Pretty close to a masterpiece. The progenitor of so much that came after. And still sounds good. The rap style is the only thing that has dated but it is my preferred style anyway.
I can’t quibble as it is band doing what they want to do and I like the commitment. Not their best album and for no real reason I can pinpoint, I would happily never listen to it again. It’s not bad, and while I can see no reason why it’s not my thing, after all it has all the right components, it’s just not my thing.
This was awful. Production is like a parody. The lyrics at idiotic, and the song seem half written. For all the love he gets, Prince seems like the most overrated artist in history. I was genuinely looking forward to this one and have come away bitterly disappointed.
I don’t say this because of the musical that’s been constructed around their songs, but this album sounds like the soundtrack album from the musical. It sounds like Andrew. Lloyd Webber. I neither hate nor love it, it’s just Music for another purpose. It sounds like Benny Sitting in his piano smashing out tunes on the plus side. I have a new appreciation for how good the singers in ABBA were.
Fucking tedious
Kinda boring. Was hoping for some garage rock. Strumy acoustic stuff.
I had expected them to be more hardcore. Brilliant band. Fantastic guitar tone. So many songs. So many ideas. So much variety. I had never heard this before other than the song used for Jackass. This is a masterpiece.
The only good thing about this are the field recordings. Moby’s “additions” sound like AI has been asked to harmonise them. This is embarrassing.
Although I know almost all the songs, I had never actually listened to this album. Really strong stones record. Probably peak era. Catchy and swaggering.
Couldn’t even get through a song without skipping. World music sucks balls. He has an amazing voice though.
Good lyrics. I enjoyed the very diatonic songwriting more than I thought I would.
There is nothing here for me. The affected delivery is awful.
It was fine. Didn’t hold my attention though.
No. I lived through this second rate shit. I don’t have to listen to a single second.
Really enjoyed it. Surprised how straight it is. He has a very fine voice. I was worried it was a bit one paced but Macbeth fixed that.
Utter dross. It sounds like a couple of guys found GarageBand for the first time.
Had a decent bluesy groove. I think people like the doors more if they think Jim Morrison is a spunk. They deserve credit for being early but this sounds like a million bands.
Awful bland shite
God rock n roll
Outstanding. Musicianship, lyrics, range of tempos and volume. Perfect.
I loved it. Surprisingly good recording of his outstanding voice.
I feel this meant a lot of things to some people at the time. It is like oasis, a band I don’t care too much for, without any swagger. Really quite dull. But inoffensive.
Solid prog album. Good melodies. Sometimes it was a bit too polyphonic spree of notes but overall I enjoyed it.
