Sisters Of MercyThis goes everywhere and im surprised. It starts droney and then everything after that kinda keeps you on your toes. Enjoyed this a lot for someone who wears colors

Not available on spotify rn so i listened to their earlier one "Standing on the verge of getting it on". And that was pretty fun. I like their busier more rock funk fusion stuff. Sometimes theyre adding some "bitches" here and "bitches" there that im like hmm idk about that part man
Great vibes, would be cool to see live for sure. It does become noise at times when it feels like a jam by great players. Like im not listening to songs im hearing people go ham. And thats cool in its own ways
Classic. So short and sweet. They found what they liked and they stuck to it. I cant believe they remember how to play their own songs cuz its all one big "ramones song". Its what people joke about acdc but actually. Sick vibe tho
In a span of seconds this was flip flopping from oh wow thats a really cool vibe to please stfu already damn. And within the same song even. Some of the wackier genre stuff i liked. With a full band this woulda felt incohesive with the stranger genres and vibes but with the same textures it matches. Too bad i was also annoyed half the time
For a band called Air this slaps. I like the vibe. A couple of these are kinda dull and a few are just good grooves so even if theyre repeated a thousand times its chill.
I wish i loved pixies. Something about the production is kinda dull. All the instrumentals also? No amount of wacky voice makes these that interesting to me. I do appreciate the cultural impact maybe but ehh
Idk how to feel about the beach boys. Theyre very interesting and incredible vocally but at the same time dont lure me in really
The Cigarettes After Sex of their time. When people describe getting wild and crazy back in the day and its them doing the jitterbug? Teres a song that is just that on here, to really turn up the rec center. That being said it is really pretty.
I forget how much i do enjoy this album. My friends in high school used to talk about floyd all the time. Cant imagine listening to this when the sun is out tho, this is a strictly nightime band. Lucky for whoever did their art direction for all their covers cuz they probably singlehandedly are responsible for the lasting impact of PF
Didnt hate it (or his voice) as much as i expected having been a smiths hater since i found punk in high school. That being said, shut uuuup jeeeeesus. Almost had me there in the first two songs, almost had me thinking this could slap
GEEEEEEZ. Man i couldnt wait to discover how much i love sinead o'connor, listened to the first 3 tracks one day, thought it was interesting, started it again the next day and i just couldnt wait for it to end. Literally the last song i was like pleaaaase stoooop. Idk what it is. Its like the sounds of the 90s i hate the most. The huge reverb, the drum kits, the lack of dynamics? Sorry sinnead pls dont hate me
His voice is kinda eh but i can dig it. Surprisingly bare feeling, after all these albums with so many harmonies. This is a guy in his yard on a campfire thats kinda annoying about stuff
This is nice. Like no one has played this and frowned. That being said its (to me) the quintessential dad rock. Like suburban peaceful rock.
Funny, cheesy, dancey, its good old school pop/maybe hip hop? But it has a nice personality thats fun and casual.
I liked this?? Like a lot?? Make cuz it created the chillest vibe while i played Skate 3 at 2am. Its not far from a lot of stuff that i dont like but they really killed it. Harmonies are amazing ofc but the instrumentals are solid and maybe thats it
Started it one day and didnt vibe. Started on second song like a week later and it was super chill the whole time. Longer than it should be maybe tho. A nice late 80s evolution of beatles. More long winded, less vocal heavy but more instrumental. A nice new wave/early indie type sound i enjoy
The kind of album that high school me woulda said must be what doing acid is like
This feels a lil caricature-esque. Like the first couple beatles are like well ofc they sound like that. Thats exactly what youd expect. And this is like a meme in a way, but it sounds really good?
Idk they were gonna bring it like that. Lotta ways they keep it fresh and still the same essence throughout. That accent in this makes me feel, as they say now, "cunty"
Good! Directly between things i like and dont (the new wave bands to smiths/tears for fears spectrum) heard it right after stone roses and it didnt have as much of a spice but still good. Out of so many good bands of the time it doesnt pop as much
This goes everywhere and im surprised. It starts droney and then everything after that kinda keeps you on your toes. Enjoyed this a lot for someone who wears colors
Gawwwwd.
Im shocked to say i really enjoyed this. Ive definitely changed. But im not sure what this feels like. Its interesting to me and has like a glowing ether to it from all the years of being mystified so ifeel like im listening to history. At the same time, a guy reading his funky poems with solo guitar kinda feels like every open mic night ive ever seen. Maybe thats the charm also? Its relaxing with its simple tone. Anyone can be him and he is everyone really.
Not a lot of latin artists on this list so far so i was very surprised that i hadnt heard of the first one to come up so far. I get it now, and it makes sense why its here i was just like "huh... no ruben blades? No tito puente?" Lol i did enjoy it kinda except it felt looong. Its nice and relaxing but i do like merengue and salsa thats faster more. Not my thing but its vibey
I mean i enjoy basically anything 60s garage rock. Like much of these albums some kinda meh stuff and some bangers. Organ's always good in these kinda albums
What a banger. Odd that ozzy became such a distinct voice in rock cuz in albums like this he's not really at the forefront of it. Theres so much instrumental stuff, and his best stuff is just singing along to the best guitar riff youve heard. Its like robert plant singing every now and then with zeppelin and half the time hes just vibing out onstage. When every person in the back is killing it sometimes its ok to just chill
Was thinking this was a one guy show. Like i can only describe it as "continuous". Didnt stop much or change? What Patti Smith is to artsy punks that wanna go onstage to have an excuse to yell about horses n shit, this is to aspiring poets with a drum machine and condescension. Like i half expect them to look like Morissey. Difference is patti smith is awesome and morissey is whatever. Like i swear it was one guy with a drum machine and a keyboard. Turns out they have a drummer. Im gonna have to relisten later but rn it just didnt hit. Like i just sighed like ok sure
This gets better as it goes. I generally dontlike the modern bluesy vocal delivery over indie instrumentals (as opposed to their earlier more dirty garage sound) from the 2010s, like hozier and all that. But the songs get stranger as it goes and i like that
Heard this in the end of college in my "i gotta learn to understand bowie more" phase. It was maybe my favorite one? At least one that stood out as pretty consistent. The instrumentals started to finally pop and his voice chilled out lol
Dont listen to much stuff like this but i appreciate a lil variety. Realized i kinda liked kacey musgraves from a couple christmas songs so i was excited to hear the whole thing. Theres some hits and misses, its not very consisten interms of how much i like the songs but is consistent in vibe. She does have such a soft like passive voice and at times it has a "go with the flow" fun ethereal vibe to it but in some songs it sounds yearnful in a way that feels like youve given up. Not sure how to describe it any way else.
They shoulda split papa was a rolling stone into like 2 songs. Its crazy how they just let that sit in the middle of an album that is nothing like that lol. Its fun otherwise (that song included i just didnt know the album version was that long of the same thing)
Shes so cool. And so many people sound (or want to sound) like her but nobody does quite this. The way she says every single word on here is so funny in and at the same time so cool. It really sounds like the most idgaf art student in the best way
Kinda of interesting to think this would be pop music back in the day. And its very boomer of me but for this to be like lame pop back then is crazy cuz this is kinda awesome? Like its corny as fuck sure but they sound really good and the chord changes in dome of these are really fun
This seems like its a book of his poetry mixed with several jams he and his band had kinda put together? Like in a way these feels less like songs and more like several vamps. I couldnt hear all the words though and i feel like a lot of his magic is there. That being said i did cry during the last song so ill give you that one, the boss!
