1001 Albums Summary

I love being introduced to this album of Simon and Garfunkel. Of course, I really only recognized Mrs. Robinson which has been in numerous movies, but was written for The Graduate. Cecelia is the song I know by this duo. I found the Voices of Old People track very interesting. I believe our seniors hold so much valuable information, but sometimes trying to receive it during their final years is tricky. My heart grieves for those on the album who have passed as it is now 57 years later.

I need to spend more time with E. Smith. I enjoy his melancholy sound and have followed him on Spotify to revisit and learn more by him.

Such a controversial album. This one flew under the radar as I was graduating from high school and starting college when it was released. I listened to Eminem, but the other albums more than this particular one. However, I still see the value of this album. It's a story and best listened from start to finish. It is raw, unhinged, with horrific lyrics; however, it is fascinating to listen to Eminem's growth. I may be somewhat biased as I'm a Michigander, and artists from Detroit always catch my ear.

Heart of the Sunrise was longer on a different edition. From Wikipedia, I discovered there was a hidden track originally. I was able to hear it on the original from Spotify.

I'm so close to giving this a 5, but to be completely fair, I'd probably skip a track or two, so I'm following my original rubric. 4 stars
