1001 Albums Summary

3/5 rating for me. I can see how important and exciting this album and its singles were in the summer of 1967. Its a great snapshot of how blues rock was co-opted by California hippies and mixed with psychedelic rock. Some of the more tender and quiet songs have beautiful singing parts and not just from Grace Slick. The two singles are absolute standouts but they sit great with this easy listening album.

Really enjoyed this and I already like it better than the 3 previous albums. Though the previous albums were decent and very important for their time, This album just has Jack White playing way more interesting and hard hitting songs. My favorites were Sixteen Saltines, I'm Shaking, and Love Interruption

This is album was a breath of fresh air. I'm very new to electronic music and don't often venture there. The vocals over the instrumentals were amazing and entrancing. After doing some reading, the vocals seem very Portishead inspired except a more electronic instrumental. I will definitely be saving this and look to get a physical copy.
