1001 Albums Summary

Not my style! Felt like a number of ballads, then a few songs that are cliche by now (coconut especially feeling dated).

BB king is a classic! Really like his guitar and his singing, but for whatever reason, the larger band blues doesn’t always do it for me - it ends up feeling a little too polished, weirdly.

Full of classics! Maybe it’s because I didn’t grow up with him, but the whininess in voice gets to me sometimes.

So many classics on one album!

Such a tremendous opening track! It might have been because we were listening in the car but the middle tracks were either 60s flowery or somewhat forgettable quiet solos, then it ended with another banger in the court of the crimson king!

Kanye’s off the fucking rails but college dropout was an incredibly solid first album. What a way to drop and establish yourself as a rapper.

absolutely classic

It may have slapped at the time, but all of the trip hop I’ve heard since made it blend together in my mind. Good background listening, but not something I’d seek out.

Had never heard of this artist before, but then recognized a few of the songs. Really enjoy the gentle almost mystical lyrics and vibe.

Odd, troublesome (she’s 14), but a great listen and after reading about it, you can absolutely feel the influence on later music.

I enjoyed it! I felt myself getting somewhat lost in the tracks, but it was impressive.
