The Low End Theory
A Tribe Called Quest
Fantastic. I've never heard anything quite like this. I don't know a ton about rap history, but this sounds like a bridge linking 80s and 90s era sounds. Every track on this album was an absolute banger.

Classic - i had never actually listened to the album all the way through. I'm impressed with just how many monumentally successful songs are on this album.

The ArchAndroid
Janelle Monáe
One of my all time favorites. This hits so many elements of what makes a great album for me; a high-concept, a century of cultural references, the timeless social themes, and the beautiful music clearly informed by Monae’s broadway background. It still feels like this came out of nowhere, and it’s perfect.

This has a pretty strong opening track. I wanted to like the album more, but it ended up feeling kind of one dimensional to me. I can see why this would be a popular album, and I liked some of the tracks but it's overproduced and largely not my style.

Rubber Soul
Beatles
Some great songs, it's crazy just how prolific the Beatles were. These are the songs of my childhood, driving with my parents while they listened to the oldies station on the radio; they'll never fail to make me feel something.
Run For Your Life is pretty fucked up though.

Low
David Bowie
This is incredible. A masterpiece. I can't believe I've never listened to Low in it's entirety; the tonal shift after A New Career In A New Town is compelling, almost a song in its own right. I love it, one of those albums that feels personal.
