Way too much drums. This is shit criticism but there's no space no air
Safe album, nothing too exciting but nothing I can complain about too much either.
Fave song is the Never mind I'll find one
Went into this feeling skeptical. Although it might not be anything that I could see myself reach for - I found it very pleasant
Im sad that this website only lets you rate albums in full stars as this album would probably have landed a 3.5. I really enjoyed it in the beginning, would love to listen to the first two songs in a car on a warm summer day on my way to a beach. But it loses me somewhat after that, definitely has a lot of moments and I could see it growing on me, might pick up again.
I've heard it before and this is a fairly solid album, but not so much to my taste that I'd really feel inclined to listen to it again. HOWEVER there's a couple moments on this album that makes it completely unlistenable... I remember one of them going into it and skipped before it ruined too much for me, but I forgot the second part and :--) jfc. Would've gotten another star but I don't wanna listen to a blow job
Best song the one that goes Live for the funk Die for the funk
Is this a 5/5 album? Only time will tell I suppose, I never love love an album from first listen so I probably should be a bit more generous with my reviews.
Usually I find that albums start out strong, and then get progressively less and less interesting - but that wasn't my experience with this one! For starters, I think Brazilian Portuguese is like one of the prettiest languages- so I suppose it already got a head start. But further, the albums starts out good and then becomes better. Such a fun and energetic listen! I screenshotted the following songs to mention as faves:
Meus Filhos, Meu Tesouro
O Plebeu
Xica de Silva
But I likely liked others just as much.
Not sure if I would put any of the songs in a playlist? But certainly will remember the album for the right occasion.
I'd probably give this a lower score, 2.5 perhaps, if I'm being honest but I'd be remiss to give it too low of a score. I'm just sadly very uninterested in the Beatles music π
Despite everything, the man really could make music... it would be easier for me to point out which track I like the least than the most, but in a good way. I don't remember which song but there was one that didn't fit into the album as well as the others iirc, but the rest is fire and made the last 40 min of my work day fly by without me noticing.
First song: boring
Second song: fun
Third song: boring
Fourth song: fun
Fifth: bad
Sixth: ok.
To summarize I didn't enjoy it too much π
I'm being somewhat harsh with my scores but since there's no .5 this is just wjat kinda happened
A personal long time fave. π«Ά
I want to be clear, it's not bad, I just find it kinda plain π I feel like I've heard a 100 songs like the ones on this album.. so nothing grabbed me.. but I would probably appreciate this at the right moment
I really enjoyed the instrumentals at the beginning of this album, but the vocals are not for me and the album grew more and more bland/generic
I wasn't gonna mention Coldplay, but reading other reviews - I'm not alone.. but I think I'd rather listen to Coldplay tbh
I would've loved this 10 years ago. Probably would've given 2.5, I need to figure out how to give scoressss sorry
Had a out of body experience. Came back to it with tears streaming down my face, googling "can music make you high?". I think I held my breath more than can possibly be healthy while listening to this
Someone said this album is like being stuck in an elevator, and it kinda was like being stuck in one together with a string quartet. I mostly appreciated how this isn't anything I have really actively listened to before - but I didn't really enjoy it. Maybe it would be better if it was accompanied by some tango dance, but I was at work which didn't really lend it any strength
I think I prefer Off the Wall. This album for sure has high highs, but the lows are pretty low to me. There's no song thats so bad i wanted to skip it, there's just a bunch I don't care for.
I have heard this before and wasn't really impressed. Never really cared for nirvana
However, it really hit yesterday and to keep it fair with how I'm rating the others by first impression - I can't give this anything but 5 stars
I completely forgot I was listening to this and now a day later I can't remember what I thought about it and I'm too tired to go back
It's ok, would probably land closer to a 2.5. Quite the same throughout the album, so if you're in the mood for this specific music it's perfect.
Groove is in the heart is a banger tho
I think if give this 3.5 so idk if I'm rating it too low.
2.5. Too much instrumentals for my taste. Became a bit boring π
Sometimes boring, sometimes quite nice. Some songs sound like an off-brand country version of PJ Harvey. I really thought this was going to be some lofi indie based on the cover and name tbh. Title track is probably the worst song on this album, I think drunken angel might've been my favorite? Idk
I think this would be superb live
Enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Some songs (quite a few) are unnecessary long tho which made the already long album feel even longer..
I listened to this three days ago and I don't remember my opinion except transformer is better and I assume it's also on this list..
I think this one could definitely grow on me, but for now it lands on a 3.5. Should've listened to the remastered version bcs the original is a bit Wall-of-sound imo...
I feel like Coldplay makes music for people who want to like indie rock but doesn't like indie rock. I think they get too much hate tho, their music is a ok. Palatable (?) but forgettable
Oasis biggest strengths:
- Their attitude/ego
- Their lyrics
Oasis biggest weaknesses:
- Their attitude/ego
- Their lyrics
Live forever is Definitely maybe their best song of all time
It's wild how I've considered Back to black one of my fave albums for like 10+ years, but I haven't listened to any of her other music I think?? I'd give this 4.5 but I'll go for 5
"This doesn't look like Blues" I think seeing the cover. Didn't take many seconds to confirm, indeed not a Blues album. Not sure I would listen to this again, but I definitely enjoyed it.
I expected this to be painful considering the cover and title, but it wasn't unlistenable. I'd give it a 2.5 I think
This lands somewhere between 4-4.5, I like this album from before so not a first listen. "Can I Kick It?" might be the best song ever written
