Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues

Very interesting album. Even though I don't speak the language, the emotions came through very clearly and intensely. This is the fist album from the list that feels like the emotions take over the lyrics and even the music itself.

Oct 09 2025

Very well recorded and produced album. Good to test acoustics and sound signature, there is enough variety and dynamic range to test any frequency needed. This album really highlights why Oasis became the band that they are today.

Sea Change by Beck

Very melodic, pleasing to listen to, and very well produced. Need to listen again

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Nov 06 2025

Very interesting album. The way the recording equipment is set up makes it sound like we are listening to the album from within the audience itself. Mastering and engineering are not the focus of this album, instead it feels like it was meant as a personal experience rather than an audio testing album.

Incredible. Vocals take center stage, but the insturmental component of the music is a perfect match for the energy, passion and beauty of O'Connor's voice. There is a subtle melancholy throughout the song that is beautifully haunting, and needs to be paid attention to in order to be fully appreciated. Very emotional music, not for a quick and casual listening at all. Overall, one of the best albums I have ever listened to.

Aqualung by Jethro Tull

Legendary

Rio by Duran Duran
Nov 11 2025

Very interesting album. Production is incredible, and dynamic range is very well managed.

Nov 12 2025

Very interesting experience. There are a few songs I'd heard before, but most of them were new. I really enjoyed listening to this, and a few of the songs have been added to my rotation.

Back At The Chicken Shack by Jimmy Smith

Very good. Interesting to listen, and the track progression through the album makes for a really full and rewarding experience

Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
Dec 04 2025

Incredible. One of the best hiphop albums ever recorded. The beats, lyrics, the production is immaculate. This feels like an album ahead of its time, but also a perfect representation of the time and place where it came from. Fear Of A Black Planet deserves a spot at the top of this list.
