This album screams 70s background music.
I mean, this is Meatloaf, what did I expect it to sound like? It’s the same piano-driven rock song after song. He’s talented, but this isn’t my jam. The fact that every song has to be funny gets old.
Better than I thought it would be
80s alternative at its finest.
Not as good as I expected and definitely not as strong as Who’s Next. I’ve never been drawn to The Who based on their hits and this doesn’t change my mind.
Can tell where Tom’s Diner came from. Just fine. Couldn’t think of when I would want to listen to this.
A tremendous album from front to back.
Just meh. Not bad enough to be 2 stars, but just barely. I guess it would be ok on low in the background. Nothing moves me in it.
I had never listened to this as an entire album before. Some of the songs as singles, but a much better listen as a coherent one-sitting listen.
