Already listened to it, arguably one of the most important rock albums of its time, with a very prominent message within about drug addiction. Almost psychedelic in sound and nature, and very ahead of its time, a 10/10 in my eyes.
I had already listened to this one and thought it was ok, then decided to relisten to it and realised just how catchy this album is. The title track for the album is an incredible listen, easily the standout track on it, but there are plenty of other songs that are almost just as catchy. The song-writing on the album is good too, so overall a solid 9/10.
Incredible Folk album, one of the pioneers of its kind, and with some absolutely stellar song-writing to boot. The way Dylan interweaved some more rock-centric sounds with his classic country music is something that wasn't seen at that time, so it truly was an innovation on the sound. Not much more to say, a solid 9.5/10
Some rather nice sounding synth sounds in this record, however it just doesn't quite do it for me. Sure, the sound in the album was very uncommon for the time it was released, but there were other albums before it doing arguably more. Not a bad album, per se, just not one that really revolutionised its sound. 7.5/10
This is a hard album to write about, because what are you meant to say? It's Coldplay, arguably one of the most popular and currently influential bands, and probably their best album. This album tugs on the emotional cords really well, and while a lot of that may be attributed to the melancholy use of piano, Martin's quivery, falsetto voice adds onto this feeling of sadness you may feel when listening to it. Overall, a good album from a good, albeit a touch overrated band, a solid 8.5/10.
This album left a lot to be desired, put bluntly. As a debut album, it holds up just fine. A bit on the short side, with a considerable few good songs. However, this album just didn't really deliver. At most points it just felt like background music, not to mention Petty has plenty of other great songs, songs better than those present on this album. For a band's first album, its fine, just not great, especially compared to some of Petty's other works. Overall, a 6/10.
As some of my first exposure to Kate Bush, and after hearing a few of her other, much more popular songs, I can safely say that she is a truly great artist. The pop influence on this album is heard through many of its songs, but it still has a very somber tone. I can't say much else about it, it's a solid 8.5/10.
This album was pretty good, I enjoyed listening to some of the songs, the instrumentation was very nice, at some points have more complexity than other songs of its time, not much else to say, a decent 8/10.
Good album, as my introduction to Jethro Tull. However, it felt just a bit generic, with some fairly bog standard prog-rock instrumentation, however as a concept album, it works very well. The story of Aqualung is told throughout the lyrics of the music, which is a concept that wasn't often seen when this album was released. Overall, it's a solid project, 8/10.
I've already listened to this album, and I already think it is an incredible punk record, with some of the most out there and futuristic soundscapes, even for its time. There was nobody doing what these guys did, even 45 years after the fact, few projects have managed to innovate on a genre as much as this one. And, it has some killer riffs and melodies to boot. Overall, I can't go lower than a 10/10.
This album is famously considered to be one of the greatest punk records of all time, but personally, I just don't quite get it. I understand the influence it may have had on the genre, but there were plenty of other punk records released before this which had an even more advanced sound. Still, this record holds up really well, and is obviously very good, with some very nice sounding guitars and other instruments, but just enough to get an 8.5/10.
A nice sounding album with obviously a lot of emotion behind it, and some fun instrumentation. Over all, a nice 9/10.
This album uses some incredible samples and has some really good lyrics. A lot of the songs are really catchy and sound really good for their time. A 10/10 album.
A good RnB album with some great lyrics and vocal performances. The instrumentation too is great, with some nice sounding instrumentals. Overall, a 9/10.
Already listened to this and, separating art from the artist, as a debut project, is incredible for its diversity of beats with intricate samples, as well as its lyrical content tackling various themes. Overall, a great album, 10/10.
I had already listened to this album, but decided to relisten to it to more accurately convey my views, and honestly, I don't think it hit quite the same. I think its a nice album with some good songs and moments, but it just didn't quite land with me as it did. I still think it has some merit, so I'll give it a 9/10.
This album was pretty good, I liked a lot of the sounds I heard. Not much more to say, but will be getting an 8.5/10.
Already listened to it, incredible guitar playing from Hendrix on this album and just an overall insane sound. Nothing short of a masterpiece, 10/10.
Already listened to it, has some pretty cool sounding songs but fails to impress me as much as their other albums. Doesn't mean it's bad though. 7.5/10
Already listened, AND own it physically so you just KNOW this is a great album. Insane production all around, with some real emotional value as well, topped of with some of the best songs known to man. I believe that this is Radiohead's best album, and deserving of a 10/10.
Already listened, and what an album this is. Easily one of my favourite albums of all time, some of the best sounds I've heard on an album from around this time, I think this album is perfect, deserving of a 10/10.
Already listened, and I think it's a little overrated. Not bad by any means, the title track is still probably their best song in my opinion, but that is the only point in the entire album I revisit. Good album, even if only carried by the title track, 7.5.
I had already listened to this album, but decided to relisten to better ascertain a written opinion on it, and I will say it was a delightful relisten. Kid A is a sharp right turn in Radiohead's sound from their previous OK Computer, and is executed flawlessly, containing a blend of electronic ambient noises, as well as more harsh sounding parts. Not many artists can swap genres like that that quickly, but Radiohead manages to accomplish that and then some. It should also be noted that I own this album physically, so my praise for it was spoken well before this relisten. This album gets a 10/10 from me.
Already listened, super disturbing album with very heavy themes and some interesting sounds. I can't say much else, but I'll give it an 8.5/10.
Already listened, and from what people had said about this album, I had high hopes. Unfortunately, this album didn't quite live up to my expectations. It's a good album, but I don't think it's as good as people say it is. Nice sounds on it over all, but still only getting an 8/10.
Really nice sounding folk album, incredible lyrics by Dylan, as always. Not the best album by him, but nowhere close to being bad. A nice 9.5/10
Already listened, and I think it's a little bit overrated. Not bad, in fact I quite like a few of the songs on it, more overrated in the sense that the songs I don't like quite as much didn't really live up to the precedent that other songs on the album had set. Still, a good album made by an obviously talented band, 8.5/10
