This album is the definition of the word 'okay' it's like no song is great and no song is bad it's just okay.
I think this album really lets blur down. They have so many hits but this just doesn't help, it just lacks everything and after the 4 or so albums before it's a complete let down. It's also just boring. What is it trying to be.
In what mood do you actually listen to this it's bland nothing clever about it. Maybe my opinion will change as I listen to it. Okay 'Sweet Life' is good. But does lack lyrical excellence. That goes for the whole album. Awful nothing good about this except the album cover. Like is Blonde the same too bored after this to actually find out.
It's a weird album, at first. I understand the raised eyebrow to 'Mothers', the album is a bit like they walked into the studio and saw all the instruments and hardware and went 'yes all of this has to be on the album' but it works in a slightly 80's way. Synchronicity II, Every Breath You Take. Good songs. Enjoyed 'King of Pain'. Defo down the middle kind of album. First half let it down.
I don't mind this, it fits the vibe of the time it was released. I think unless you're a die hard Arcade Fire fan, the songs are a little meaningless but I might listen to this again. It has some good songs, I think others really down grade it but I quite enjoy it. I think Arcade could have played a small part in influencing bands like The Lumineers, Of Monster and Men, those type of bands. They've got a genre and live by it. Also it's a bit of a long album. It's got no bangers so does get boring about half way through.
This is different look of what Queen is and what I know of Queen. Compared to the singles and the ones everyone knows, this is a nice different, to listen to for the first time. Like how the album flows nicely. All four as excellent as ever, defo see how their career shaped out after this album, never lost their roots. No particular bangers other than Seven Seas of Rhye but enjoyed and maybe open to listen to other of Queens lesser known music.
YES. YES. YES. Love this album already. Some say that heavy metal was dead even before the 80's but this is exactly what metal/rock in the 80's was. It's got tunes all the way though. Vocals, guitars, bass all on point. This is what this list was created for, for people who may not have heard legendary albums like this Great album. Always has been. Always will be.
This is a great album. I'm able to put songs I've heard before, but not quite knowing who they are, finally to a face and understanding the rest of their sound. Lauryn Hill is genius of her craft and finding the discography of the Fugees is something I wish I had found earlier. The production of this album is 10 out of 10.
You're not Kevin Parker. You're not Talking Heads, this is a no. This needs to be below a 1 star.
It's good, not his best, good length album 50 mins, perfect listening time.
You defo wouldn't recommend this to someone who hadn't heard Elvis before. Album does pick up after 'In the Ghetto' and end well with some legend songs. It's a middle of the road Elvis album, but enjoyed it.
Oh yeah. Green Onions, well I know the first song and that's probs it. But it's good I don't mind a Rhodes/electric piano, cause this could've been a hard listen, but it's under 40 mins so overall quite good. Great guitar work on it and a good listen. might see what more Booker T & The M.G.s have to offer as love this kinda 60's music as great way to build my music knowledge/catalog and some nice blues to play guitar over and learn from.
This is a cool, chilled album, I think a nice intro to The Temptations. Be more than happy to listen to more of their stuff.
I think this is a cool album and wouldn't be out of play in the charts today. But it's a bit long repetitive and maybe lose a bit of concentration listening to it but a good album to have on in the background so does the job well. We need more funk and rock fusions.
Nope. Couldn't listen. The pain in his voice pains my ears and head.
*chefs kiss* there are not enough hyperbole for this. Legendary.
Had no idea what to expect. But cool, I like. The last song just does something weird to your stomach reminds me of driving late, while your parents listen to an obscure 80's album and its just weird noise but you're a kid and don't understand and don't know what to think of it. But cool album I’d listen to more of his stuff.
The thing about Kate Bush is that she's a great singer, songwriter and everything, nothing actually wrong with her music. I just don't like it but it still deserves a high rating. Just struggle to get into it. But as I listen it growing on me, like 'Love and Anger' probs the guitar that does it for me. But still a bit samey. The guitar work kinda wins it for the album 'Rocket's Tail' is a cool song.
I mean it's Cream, yeah maybe doesn't live up to the hype it gets but a great rock album.
I find this a really hard to judge album. Some of it is good has meaning clever musicality and then others don't and can maybe be the problem with such a long album. I question is it trying to be too Radiohead? It's just a bit all over the play no direction and just boring.
If you hadn't listened to Bowie before this wouldn't be the best first album to listen to. But having known the history of the album and listened to other Bowie I enjoyed it and heard some songs I'd never heard before so a nice way to listen to even more Bowie.
Many people know Amy for the Back to Black album and I’m the same. I’ve heard a few of these songs before but listening to the whole Frank album I think she’s much better than people remember. Past all the drug and alcohol abuse she could have had a massive musical longevity. This is a beautiful album musically and vocally. This is very good.
