Sleepy, chill album from Jeff's dad. I'm not familiar with his work but I'd definitely come back to this.
Some good covers from Willie but ultimately I felt that it was the original songs that were carrying it, rather than his versions of them.
Overall a good and enjoyable listen which went relatively quick.
Stand out tracks for me were: Living For The City, Higher Ground and All In Love Is Fair (loved his voice on this track)
Solid album. The album opens with hit after hit and a big dose of nostalgia. Despite being 30 years old, it holds up incredibly well and made me understand why there's so much excitement around their world tour.
I really enjoyed this album and instantly went back for another listen.
Stand out tracks: Roll with it, Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger, Some May Say & Champagne Supernova!
ZZ is one of those bands you always hear about and they seem to have a loyal following but I really don't get it. Overall the album is non-offensive and definitely something you can listen to, but none of it grabbed me or moved me in anyway.
Never thought I was much of an Eagles fan, but I really enjoyed this. Hotel California is obviously great and one of their better known tracks but Wasted Time and Wasted Time (Reprise) reminded me of storytelling I have been missing from just listening to tracks on Spotify.
This album for me somewhat defines the sound of the 90s. Disarm is the definite stand out but I really enjoyed listening to this again.
Never heard of this band, not even a whisper and honestly I'm not sure why. Maybe it's just me.
Maybe their sound is not unique enough, but Back to Mystery City is a good album and a good listen.
Standout songs: Malibu Beach Nightmare, Until I Get You and Back to Mystery City
Really enjoyed this. I haven't listened to techno in a while but this was a great listen and felt like a bit of a journey.
Listened to this album while flying back home. It’s smooth and soulful, and just the vibe I needed after a big week.
Standout tracks: I Feel the Earth Move, Way Over Yonder, You’ve Got a Friend, Will You Love Me Tomorrow? and (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.
I didn't grow up on Prince, nor was I ever around any big Prince fans, and yet I'm aware that he's widely considered to be a legend. The aura around him makes rating this album difficult. Did I enjoy this, or am I afraid to go against the grain and say I didn't. Or was it actually good but I raised my expectations so high that it couldn't live up to it? Who knows.
Prince being prince, it deserved two listens and on the second time round I did enjoy it more. The Beautiful Ones especially is a great track and probably my favourite. When Doves Cry is an obvious classic that even a Prince newb like me knew and loved.
Overall, I'd give this a 3.5 if I could. I enjoyed it and hope to like it more on future listens, but I'd be lying if I said that it's immediately going into my playlists.
I really enjoyed this album. It's chill, lounge like vibe makes it a great listen. I get why people think this is boring or why it's compared to elevator / background music, but for me this style really hits me in the right way.
It's calming but still engaging and honestly makes me long for grabbing this vinyl and curling up in front of a fire to enjoy it.
I'm new to DJ shadow and Endtroducing just got me hooked!
I didn’t love this nor did I hate it. Working Class Hero is definitely the stand out but over all this album wasn’t for me and won’t be remembered.
Reggae just isn’t for me. It sounds formulaic and ultimately disinterest me
Was very excited when I saw this pop up but man it wasn't for me. Maybe this album didn't land or maybe I'm just not as big a Beastie Boys fan as I thought.
This was a hard start. It felt off and something that I would hate. The urge to just put this down as “not for me” is as high but I decided to persevere. Having listened to the album I can appreciate that it’s an attempt at saying something, at expression. Honestly I have no idea what it’s trying to say, and it really wasn’t for me, but I do appreciate the work for what it is.
