Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Nov 20 2025

Probably great, but Bob's voice is grating and the songs aren't particularly exciting. It's definitely catchy and well-played, but I'll probably save listening to this album again for my retirement.

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Nov 21 2025

I was prepared for overly self aware weirdness but there are legitimately great tunes in here. I really like it. For a 70 minute double album it really doesn't feel like it overstays its welcome.

Imagine by John Lennon
Nov 24 2025

Ubiquitous megahit title track aside, this is a great collection of catchy blues influenced rock songs. I really enjoyed this!

Tom Tom Club by Tom Tom Club
Nov 26 2025

Bit shit, innit? I found this album annoying as fuck.

Roots by Sepultura
Nov 27 2025

I would probably have loved this if I'd heard it in 2000.

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Nov 30 2025

It’s definitely well-written and (relatively) well-played, but a lot of it is boring as fuck and goes on for so long. Some of the filler tracks (Shaker Maker, Columbia) are nearly six minutes long. I fucking hate Oasis.

Illmatic by Nas
Dec 01 2025

Hip-hop is not my favourite genre but when it is done well it is undeniable. This is one such instance. A classic.

Is This It by The Strokes
Dec 02 2025

I remember how big this album was when it came out. Copycats popped up overnight but never really bothered to listen to it. ‘Last Nite’ is a tune but the rest of it is bland as fuck. As I was listening to it I kept asking myself; ‘Is this it?’

Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Dec 03 2025

It’s a good listen but not really sure it needs to be on this list. It’s basically slightly demented blues rock featuring Captain Beefheart’s enjoyable Howlin’ Wolf style vocals.

Dec 04 2025

I always avoided Brian Eno because I thought he was pretentious rubbish for 6Music dads. I was either completely wrong or I’ve become a 6Music dad. Either way, this is just fun slightly weird pop music. Will check out more of his discography. I still hate Roxy Music.

Dec 06 2025

‘People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can’t trust people.’ It’s incredible how ubiquitous this album is. I’ve never listened to it before and I knew most of the songs, which is incredible when they are as bland and insipid as this.

Ramones by Ramones
Dec 08 2025

I learned to play bass along to this album 20+ years ago. The first and the best.

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
Dec 09 2025

Ehh, it’s okay. Not really my thing. Not sure why it’s on this list.
