well i already know i love this one and today, wed morning 12/10/25 AD, i wanted a 90s album. was actually listening to nirvana yesterday too so why not!
2.5 rounded up i guess. not sure how often i would relisten to this but i see how it's here in terms of influence (though obviously can't hold a candle to the beatles' work as a whole). the paul diss track is surprisingly a favorite. i listen to this version of imagine less than the glee cast or the infamous pandemic video
blue suede shoes immediately got me in the right mindset. and because of this, i ended up having a great time.
yeah this is a pretty perfect album. not quite the suburbs for ME but one of the best debuts ever. neighborhood #3 is still my favorite
I like the skits. not really my style but i see the influence!
great vibe for this monday morning. i would like to spend more time with this one and her music in general.
happy jazz day. had a moment during "all blues" where i GOT it. not an album i would listen to everyday but i will keep this in my repertoire as i can see how many different situations in which it would fit well.
reading about the history was very interesting and the journey is quite cool, however i don't see myself revisiting this compared to the beach boys' actual discography (and i'd probably sooner check out brian wilson's other solo work)
first song was so good. across the album, i loved the harmonica moments. i liked the first half more than the last half. in general, i liked this album so much i gave it a second listen immediately. i could see this rating increase over time!
sidenote, i love the top reviews on this album
this was a good one to listen to while working except i really wasn't a fan of the murder mystery. and that's a long one so it's sort of bringing the rating down. i get why pale blue eyes is the most streamed one on here, i liked that one.
very showtune-y and big start! i love that this list is exposing me to more jazz because i'm learning i really like it. i like alexander's ragtime band. what a voice! i want to relisten to this.
I think this is the first one where i hadn't heard of it at all? so i love to be introduced to something new. cowbell was fun. definitely silly overall. i can see how it was influential.
totally get why this is here and i do like it. the hits are hits!
the opening song jumps right in. i love all the different instruments used. would listen again and i assume more from him is on this list so i am excited to hear
so funky. first two tracks super strong along with let's pretend we're married.
very cool that this is the christmas day pick. some absolute classics on here.
i have listened to their other important albums but never this one. it's definitely a radiohead album. maybe this is an unfair rating since i'm comparing to the other albums but i just don't enjoy it as much.
i can see how this was impactful. i think as an album it wasn't for me as much but having the individual songs on a playlist when i'm in the mood for it would work for me.
yeah strong opener. the middle songs kind of blend together but i like let it bleed through the end of the album.
i have been meaning to do a kate bush deep dive so this is a good start. glad to finally get a pop album. some of it wasn't an easy listen but i liked the big hits and jig of life.
I thought i would like this when it FIRST started (based on the instrumentation) but the background vocals were something... I like parts of it but some of the more experimental choices are not for me.
first time listening as a complete album. 2 minutes in and i get the praise. i love the theatricality. i can hear the origins of some of my favorite musicians/songs in this album.
this is how i'm starting the new year (2026) and i like metal so i'm down. i really like his voice.
this is more what i expect from the velvet underground. the opener was amazing, the rest were fine. but once again the penultimate song was unpleasant. i very much do see how it's influential but it simply is not for me.
starts off a little groovy. i actually really like how the first half and the last half have different vibes but the instrumental only parts did drag on a little at times.
okay i paused my journey for months because i just wasn't in the mood for this but it was simply fine? blues was not what i expected. a little long but again it was fine.
i simply enjoy classic rock.
live blues album was good for this rainy saturday.
i respect this but man repetitive techno beats that build up to nothing are not for me. i'll revisit if i need background instrumentals while working.
strong opener. good discovery from this list.
