It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Ohhhhhh this album. Heartfelt dirty indie! I am very biased with this album, as it’s the album my wife and I adore together. We eventually danced our first dance as a married couple to ‘Hysteric’. This album, to us at least, is a perfect 5.

Butterfly by Mariah Carey

Amazing pop album! Mariah can never do any wrong

Arrival by ABBA
Jan 08 2026

This is a stunning album. Truly a snapshot in time of disco, pop and incredible song writing. Abba truly arrived on this one, and really stayed around with insanely timeless jams. Loved it!

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Jan 09 2026

This is an absolute blast! It's like a spiritual journey through funk, that gets hot and heavy, has it's knees scuffed and bares it's soul at the same time. I can see where this album began, and where it inspires everything that came after it. Truly magic!!

My Generation by The Who
Jan 12 2026

I love that this album is the international debut and beginning of the Who’s journey. You can see where they’re going through their songs and stylings, but also feel the roughness that they then shape into their smooth tones. I adore this album.

Low by David Bowie
Jan 14 2026

I remember getting this album from my wife after she picked it up from a market in Canberra, Aus. Spinning this was a revelation. Pop mashed with electro inspired by kraftwerk? Say less. However, is it Bowie’s best? No… but you can feel the potentiality in each track as they explored clunky synths that would eventually evolve. A fun listen regardless. Track that stands out (as always): sound and vision.

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Jan 15 2026

I’ve know of Crosby and Nash due to a driving instructor (who was going through a divorce) taught me both how to perform 3-point-turns, along with the knowledge of good folk music. So, with that, I was ready with a barometer of folk music… but what greeted me was a gorgeous blend of big rock band brilliance and articulate songs that really demand attention. This album is stunning. I’m hooked. I get it now. I really do. Stand out track: our house

The Cars by The Cars
Jan 19 2026

This was enjoyable! This new wave/rock album has such good lyrics and fun pop sensibilities, that it was a treat. Sure, some tracks felt like they needed to be freed from the album, but perfection always is hard to attain, right? Stand out track: Just what I needed.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Jan 20 2026

OH. Perfection. This album really was a journey. A tour de force that really made the world pay attention to The Smashing Pumpkins, and regrettably: the album that Billy Corgan couldn’t really beat. It goes down in history as one of the greatest works of the 2000’s.

Butterfly by Mariah Carey
Jan 21 2026

Amazing pop album! Mariah can never do any wrong

Colour By Numbers by Culture Club
Jan 22 2026

This is definitely the sound of the 80’s with no resistance. Heaps of fun!

1999 by Prince
Jan 23 2026

Amazing album! No notes!

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Jan 27 2026

This was a good album. I wouldn’t say it’s the Bos’ best, but it has the magic that her layers on all his work.
