Great opening track! Classic Black Sabbath. "Changes" brings out vulnerability from Ozzy which makes for a nice ballad. Other standouts are: Snowblind (the chorus gives this Black Metal vibe and the guitar solos are great), Laguna Sunrise (which is a beautiful instrumental) and Under the Sun that closes the album nicely
It's a nice easy listening album and it's a short album which I like. The lyrics are simple but impactful. Not life changing but pretty good.
Standouts: "Only Love Can Break Your Heart", "Southern Man", "Oh, Lonesome Me", "Don't Let It Bring You Down", "Birds" and "I Believe in You"
Sounds a like a generic late 80s album, if I heard it on the radio I would think "yup that's radio music". World Leader Pretend is a good song though it sounds a bit like The Smiths but American. "The Wrong Child" and "I Remember California" are good but other than that it's unremarkable. I don't think I will be revisiting this album.
I am pleasantly surprised. Just a really good rock album from the late 60s. Really good for the time. I would expect all the songs to sound the same but It doesn't, there's variation. There is some filler however. Still good though.
Standouts: Strange Brew, Sunshine of Your Love, World of Pain, We're Going Wrong
Such a unique album, it feels so fresh even though it's from 1990. Despite the 1hr runtime it feels light and not a chore to get through at all. The rap is clear, catchy and so fun and interesting to listen to. It flows so smoothly.
Never heard of this band, but they sure make banger music. This punk is so good and you can clearly hear they have developed their own sound within the punk sphere. The album starts off strong but fizzles out a bit towards the end. Like a 3.5/5
Standouts: Machine Gun Etiquette,I Just Can't Be Happy Today, Melody Lee, Anti-Pope, Plan 9 Channel 7, Looking at You
I don't think it's for me. There are some good songs though. I like the lyrics, I understand the message and Bob has a very nice singing voice but musically it feels slow sometimes and like it's dragging, which makes sense because it's reggae, but I guess I'm not in that head space to listen to reggae. It sounds more like background music to me. But I do have respect for Bob Marley, the music he provided and the significance he has had. Perhaps I will revisit it some day.
Standouts: So Jah S'eh, Natty Dread, Bend Down Low, Talkin' Blues, Revolution
Very 90s. It sounds interesting but there's something missing for it to be better. The vocals are alright and the lyrics are also just alright. It's perfectly fine.
It starts out promising but it mellows out toward the end. It's good prog rock but not on the level like Yes. Also the transitions between parts on the first track could've been smoother.
Standouts: 2112: Overture..., A Passage to Bangkok, Tears
