Bad by Michael Jackson
Mar 04 2026

It's bad, it's bad, it's really really bad. MJ's tough guy songs are just weird. I do dig Smooth Criminal though.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Mar 06 2026

Pretty diverse set of songs with big changes in the sound between tracks. Fogerty is a great guitarist and his growly voice is distinctive. Didn't know he was from California and the whole Bayou persona is a character.

2112 by Rush
Mar 10 2026

Another odd pick for the list. Why not Moving Pictures?

Isn't Anything by My Bloody Valentine
Mar 11 2026

Can hear the progression to Loveless but not a great album. Vocals are pretty weak all around. The standout is the bass.

OK Computer by Radiohead
Mar 13 2026

One of my all time favourite albums.

25 by Adele
Mar 16 2026

Beautiful voice. Not my thing though.

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Mar 18 2026

I would have preferred just the instrumental.

Space Ritual by Hawkwind
Mar 19 2026

I think you had to be there.. and high.

Vanishing Point by Primal Scream
Mar 20 2026

Really liked this one. Way more mellow than I expected based on the name. Must have been a huge influence on Deerhunter and a ton of other bands I listen to.

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Mar 23 2026

David Lee Roth even copied his scatting. Interesting character and I think the showmanship probably translated better to live than recording.

Elephant by The White Stripes
Mar 30 2026
Fragile by Yes
Apr 01 2026

Pretty good. A couple of solid songs. Fun explorations.

The Yes Album by Yes
Apr 02 2026

Can hear closer ties to their influences than later albums.

Transformer by Lou Reed
Apr 14 2026

Not a fan of Lou Reed. I get how influential he is and Walk on the Wild Side is iconic. Can't forgive him for taking all of the royalties for Can I Kick it.

Music by Madonna
Apr 15 2026

Boring and derivative.

I'm Your Man by Leonard Cohen
Apr 17 2026

Not going to lie. The sound is dated. Very late 80s.

Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
Apr 27 2026

Four Women is pretty epic. It was the inspiration for Peaches taking that stage name.

Rain Dogs by Tom Waits
Apr 29 2026

I'm hearing a heavy influence on Modest Mouse.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
May 01 2026

Pretty good.
