Enjoyed this more than I expected! I thought it would be heavier music but it was just light enough for me to enjoy. Definitely not the type of music I would usually listen to but I can absolutely recognise the talent here and understand why I've heard of Van Halen so much before. Good stuff!
Very soothing - feels like a lazy day sitting out on the porch watching the world go by. Great collection of songs. Found myself really slowing down with this album playing and just being for a bit. Takes a good album to do that!
Such an iconic sound. As soon as I heard the first song I knew which songs were coming (2 in particular). I probably won't be seeking out the rest of the album again, but it was fine to listen to today. Just not entirely to my taste. Happy to hear out in the wild
There are just so many amazing songs on this album - Carole King is just such an amazing songwriter. I just find myself frustrated that all the songs are saying in such a way that leave me wanting more from the performance side of it. I feel like I can feel the emotions of the song just yearning to get out but they're not quite there. "It's to late" harbours the feelings of a relationship dying, despite trying everything to make it work, and I've definitely felt that in others renditions, but unfortunately I'm the original I'm left wanting more. Still, cannot fault the songwriting, is just so good!
High energy. Love the party crab on the album cover. Not my vibe, but I can appreciate it. Narayan was a bit too long for my rubbish attention span so I did skip the last 2 minutes. Might actually be good focus music for when I need to buckle down and do a task, will keep it in mind.
I have been pleasantly surprised by every album I've listened to on here, and this is no exception. I love when the blues seeps through the rock in some of these tracks. Once again, not something I'm probably going to listen to on repeat, but I won't shut away from listening to Led Zeppelin in future.
I was really grooving along to the first track on this album until they started singing. Kinda hope I can find an instrumental, because the music was fun. The vocals are less jarring on other tracks, but overall I'm definitely enjoying the music far more than vocals. I'm listening to the 2007 remastered version which has 'Shot by both sides' twice, and I liked it more on second listen. Possibly something that I'll come back to, but not a fave.
Smooth, classic rock and roll. Good stuff.
I didn't realise how much of Prince's music I knew. High energy, fun music. Love partying like it's 1999. Not quite my vibe for ongoing listening though.
Wow, this album held my attention the whole way through, what a creative collection of pieces. Very cool, much enjoyed.
I feel like I'm missing some context, because listening with today's ears this feels not so impressive. Nothing particularly wrong, just nothing of particular note. I guess if I'm looking for ambient music for something this would be a good choice, but I am rarely looking for ambient music. This one was not for me.
I recognise that I lack the context and the time to fully understand this album, but far out, this is not for me.
Smooth and pleasant, but entirely unmemorable. Fine groovy background music.
It was fine I guess. I don't think there's any songs I'll be coming back for. Sounds like they had their iconic sound right from the beginning though which is pretty cool.
