The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Feb 26 2026

Good mix of groove and softer tunes. It was a good listen- nothing revolutionary, but a nice groove while you’re working. “The Murder Mystery” is conceptually a really cool song… unfortunately, when it’s your second day at a law office and you’re trying to parse legalese, it’s not the easiest task ever when you have two separate guys talking in two separate ears LOL… but super cool the way that song plays with time. Overall, if this album was their “safer record” in response to their previous more experimental album, I kind of just want to give that one a listen!

Blackstar by David Bowie
Feb 27 2026

Looooove the way this album ends… it’s kind of crazy listening to an album that’s literally an artist’s swan song. And wow wow wow the shift in soundscape from the heavier funky baselines (particularly chef’s kiss in “Sue (Or In a Season of Crime)”) to the sort of ethereal wonder in Dollar Days and I Can’t Give Everything Away (which I love the clean transition between)… waow… it’s beautiful. I listened to the final song like three times in a row and it still didn’t feel like enough. Fitting, I feel. not necessarily always my personal taste but objectively that’s a 4.5/5

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles

Good albums! Good jams! I have no critical thoughts I just had a nice time!

OK Computer by Radiohead
Mar 03 2026

I recognize why this album was culturally important. I also think most of it sounds a lot like ‘yeah yeah yeah…. technology empire… yeaaah yeah yeah… android and circuits and government… oooooooh… yeah….’ And I think. It’s not for me. Most of this album was truthfully boring me to tears UNTIL “Fitter Happier” came on and then I just felt dread but like it’s cool that it made me feel that way. Electioneering woke me up!! Good song!! I then immediately went back to sleep. I think there’s sort of this thing that happens with listening to old anti establishment music in the modern age where it was a very poignant thing to say at the time but now it’s like yeah dude I know we’re in a tech dystopia there’s like 8 giant ai companies invading every aspect of our lives and all of them have logos that look like a butthole I did like Subterranean Homesick Alien a lot! Rly cool soundscape

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Mar 04 2026

KILLER START TO THE ALBUM. The singles are really the standouts to me, tho they’re doing a lot of cool experimental stuff with the other songs. I feel like a lot of times when you hear “experimental” it’s just kind of weird but genuinely a lot of the weird choices add to the mood they’re kicking for, so that’s cool. Blue Orchid made it into my liked songs for that guitar hook Unfortunately… this album is the one where Jack white, famous for his technically excellent guitar work, is trying other shit besides the guitar. So I kind of miss it I’d give a 3.5/5 if the website let me, but I gotta round down I fear

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix

Goooood grooves! Interesting sounds, I liked the album a whole lot. I like the weird interview thing at the beginning. I’d totally listen to this again I really liked it

Killing Joke by Killing Joke
Mar 06 2026

This is the kind of album where I would absolutely not seek it out but if a friend put it on in their car I’d be jammin along. I’d give it a 3.5/5 if I could but 3/5 will have to do

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Mar 09 2026

This album tends to switch between being pretty banger and then having moments that are yeah they’re fine I guess. They’re alright. I’m kind of a lyrics snob and I think it was a lil nothingburger in that regard. But it was good!

Bad by Michael Jackson
Mar 10 2026

5/5 hell yeah. Everything slaps every time. Icon diva yass I have nothing interesting to say it just bangs heavy saved in my library

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Mar 11 2026

I reeeeally liked this album!! Love the variation on a theme throughout every track, it just gets developed so nice and scrumptiously. Sort of reminds me of like if the animal crossing new horizons daytime music was meant to be the main event. I think I’d hit this with a 4.5/5 if the website let me, but I’m happy to bump it up to a 5 in lieu of that!

Mar 12 2026

Wowowowoowow I LOOOOVE this!! The jazz club atmosphere feels so authentic and I love love love this concept oh my god. Easy 5/5 this is so fun, feels like I’m hanging out with a drink by the piano right from my office chair. Musicians are excellent, it’s funny, it’s witty, it’s heartfelt. Love it

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Mar 16 2026

I love that they made a choice with the general sound of this album. Super halloweeny and fun for a lot of the songs. The vocalists timbre isn’t my personal taste, but I fuck with it. That’s like a 4/5

The Beach Boys Today! by The Beach Boys

I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I had summer fun. I like The Beach Boys. I’m so sorry

Mott by Mott The Hoople
Mar 25 2026

I cannot even explain with earthly words how strange this experience was. At some point my coworker asked me what I was laughing about bc I could not fucking contain myself. This album is the strangest mix of pretty groovy tunes and completely insane artistic choices. There’s a part where it sounds exactly like someone is rubbing a balloon for an entire song. The vocalist(?) sometimes has spoken interjections that are in the exact same inflection as the way snoop dogg says “California” in California girls. I cannot tell if these people are 15 whining in their mother’s basement or 50 with mortgages

Faust IV by Faust

I highly recommend reading the Wikipedia article before you listen because all of what it says is Exactly What You’re Gonna Get. Very strange 3/5
