Popular Reviews

Violator by Depeche Mode

I simply must give it a 5 out of 5. All killer no filler. Ok, so another one I've heard before, so I'll just leave some more notes here before I do the relisten. I fucking love this album. I got to it through individual songs. First one was actually through Ghost covering Waiting for the Night. But I heard Enjoy the Silence at a goth night, and during the last chorus the DJ would fade the song it, and everyone would sing , "All I've ever needed is here, in my arms." And it's magical. Highlights are fucking all of it, but definitely World in my Eyes, Personal Jesus, Waiting for the Night, Enjoy the Silence, Policy of Truth, and Clean.

In Utero by Nirvana
Apr 22 2026

An interesting mix of Bleach's raw power and the catchy hooks of Nevermind, with a somewhat haunting air. A great record period.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Apr 23 2026

Pretty good jazzy singer songwriter stuff.

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Apr 24 2026

One of the best albums of all time.

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Apr 28 2026

It's great driving music. The point is it's groove and feel, which works

Duck Stab/Buster & Glen by The Residents
Apr 29 2026

Ok first off I know this one and I love this one. The Residents are one of the best experimental groups out there. Fucking great album, nice and weird, listen with headphones, good ones.

Nixon by Lambchop
Apr 30 2026

Pretty good, I feel like I would appreciate it not if I gave it more time

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
May 02 2026

Pretty great 70s singer songwriter, combination of songs I know and love and new ones I've not heard. Big shout out to Father and Son.

May 03 2026

Very mid 60s, more laid back than I thought, was honestly thinking something more like Man? Or Astroman? And got more The Corral. Overall fun.

Roots by Sepultura
May 04 2026

Phenomenal. One of the best metal albums ever. The absolute best of nu metal

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
May 05 2026

Great 2000s neo soul with frank discussions if addition and heart break. I was too young to hear this as a kid, but I love it

Arular by M.I.A.
May 06 2026

Pretty great, kinda sad in hindsight if what M.I.A is doing now but still great.

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
May 10 2026

Solid album, has a nice balance if the frenetic pace and groove. Personally love part 3, because if that drum solo at the beginning

May 13 2026

It's interesting, old school country. Not outlaw but pretty good. Surprised how the music let Buck be more emotional. Good stuff

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
May 17 2026

Great album, catchy tunes and good lyrics (Oliver's Army N word notwithstanding).

Dig Your Own Hole by The Chemical Brothers
May 18 2026

It's not my typical kind of music, but I liked it. Kept me moving asI listened and I think that's what this is for.

LP1 by FKA twigs
May 22 2026

Phenomenal. Opened up a world, I'm going to listen to more from FKA Twigs.

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme by Simon & Garfunkel
May 23 2026

First listen, this is pretty much what I expected. A lot of these songs are ones I absorbed through cultural osmosis. Big highlight is 7 o'clock news. Really struck me first time I heard it. Really good singer songwriter stuff, has a good balance of their various sounds.

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Jun 14 2026

I mean it's a classic. Undeniable Grove, more energetic at the front, more moody and slow in the back. I had to resist singing Once in a Life Time at the top of my lungs lest I wake people.

Elvis Is Back by Elvis Presley
Jun 17 2026

Boring as hell. Made me want to fall asleep

A Walk Across The Rooftops by The Blue Nile
Jun 18 2026

Interesting, intriguing, I definitely want to explore it more, but definitely recommend

Midnight Ride by Paul Revere & The Raiders

This one is interesting but honestly I think a lot of what it does would be done better by other people later.
