Frank by Amy Winehouse
Aug 01 2026

Surprised that Frank made it to the list - I was expecting Black to Black instead This is fine, but I'm not a fan of this one I didn't care for it 23 years ago, and I still don't really want to listen to this now Meh . . .

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Aug 02 2026

This album has a massive over-use of the the word "Baby" Listening in 2026, it really is a lot Not my fave LZ album, especially Shook Me & Dazed are not hitting as well as they did in the 70's But then again, this is one hell of a debut record, so it still get four stars

Ramones by Ramones
Aug 03 2026

Its the one with Blitzkrieg Bop - Hey Ho Let's Go! But after that storming opening track, things do begin to sound somewhat similar I expected to give this a four star rating, but a three makes much more sense, mainly down to the opening track

This Is Fats Domino by Fats Domino
Aug 04 2026

Totally exceeded my initial expectations - these are some fun songs Not my bag, but glad I got to listen to them nevertheless A solid three

Bert Jansch by Bert Jansch
Aug 05 2026

Back in college, a guy I knew used to hang out in folk clubs most nights Whenever I went along, most everyone was trying to do some version of this musical style I get similarities to Nick Drake - same county, but slightly different zip code I wish the guy would cheer up a little - makes it a difficult listen Its okay, but I'm never going to circle back for another listen

The Yes Album by Yes
Aug 06 2026

All I can recall about Yes is Owner of A Lonely Heart, which I quite liked in the 80's, so interested in hearing another album from their career TLDR - that is not this Not even close This is absurb prog nonsense that gave 70's music a bad name, and provoked the much-needed punk backlash Three song here clock in around nine minutes, and a couple are broken into several movements FML - I have no time today to hate on how terrible this is Let's keep it at HELL NO! and move on

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
Aug 07 2026

When it comes to the BB's I cant really listen to a whole album at once Like a Ramones record, it can get a much after three tracks in a row But breaking things down to a couple of songs at a time, makes this a really fun album to hear Great to hear Sabotage and Sure Shot again, but the deeper cuts also have some interesting musical choices that really surprised me Cool - I'll be back for another listen soon

Abbey Road by Beatles
Aug 08 2026

About half of these songs are wonderful and have completely stood the test of time The rest of strange and quirky oddities that require a skip forward but let be honest here, nine stone cold classics on a single album is one heck of an achievement, beaten only by some of their other recordings I wanna go 4.5 here

Tonight's The Night by Neil Young
Aug 09 2026

Neil Young is a tricky bag of cats Sometimes he bites your finger, sometimes cuddles up and purrs, but mostly just ignores you and does whatever the hell he feels like Neil, I hope you had fun making this, but I didn't find anything here that I want to listen to a second time

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Aug 10 2026

It's the voice - I just cant do more than one song before it gets painful Pump It Up is the exception, and Chelsea is ok, but the rest is a hard pass

Aug 11 2026

Many, many people point to The Who and Kinks as premium examples of 70's rock - they just leave me cold For me, Queen has them all beat Love the hits, and the rest is great too When I renovated my kitchen, I had all the Queen albums one after another on rotation - it was fantastic!

Smokers Delight by Nightmares On Wax
Aug 12 2026

I was waiting for something to happen Then 75 minutes later it ended Good thing is, it was so boring that I stopped actively paying attention, otherwise this would have really pissed me off

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Aug 29 2026

I have never understood the fascination with this album The two hits are ok, but the rest is already forgotten

Signing Off by UB40
Aug 30 2026

A bit of a surprise that this band broke through in the early 80's with everything else going on in the music world Tyler, King and Food for Thought dominate the album - that makes it four stars right that Sadly, the other songs dont reach the same heights

Aug 31 2026

Meh Not for me Many reviews call this album boring I get why now

Aja by Steely Dan
Sep 01 2026

So now I know where the sample from Mr Wendel comes from! This was the only interesting thing about listening to this album Jazz-infused Easy Listening is not a genre that appeals to me Pass
