Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Jul 13 2026

This is the second Led Zeppelin album I've listened to in full. While it certainly isn't bad, it is quite boring. The repetitiveness of the majority of the songs, combined with their extended runtimes, makes them drag-on; In My Time of Dying is the worst offender by far. The album as a whole feels bloated, which isn't helped by how frontloaded it is, leaving you wondering why you're still listening for most of the second disc. This is also an album where you can hear it's age, albums like In the Court of the Crimson King, Red, Dark Side of the Moon, and Aqualung, that came out around the same time or even before Physical Graffiti, just sound so much farther ahead. The highlight on this album is easily Kashmir. It is, like most songs on this album, long and repetitive, but it manages to avoid being boring by virtue of how good it is in every other aspect. It's age is also far less apparent than other songs on the album. Despite having it's moments, Physical Graffiti is dragged down by it's extended runtime and dated sound.
