Funeral by Arcade Fire
Jul 20 2026

This my first experience with this band but I love the sound. I hear influences of 80s bands from Depeche Mode to Talking Heads. Each song has some surprise instrument, phrasing, or chord progression. I'm so glad to have heard this album - it's now part of my mellow gaming playlist.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Jul 21 2026

I love this album - the raw emotion and overall sound defined a generation: my generation.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Jul 22 2026

With the exception of a few standout songs, the classic rock-n-roll songs all blur together, nothing exciting or notable. Highlights include Wild Horses and Moonlight Mile.

Green by R.E.M.
Jul 23 2026

Love the singles from this album like "Stand" and "Orange Crush," but had never heard the rest of the album. Overall I love it. Good sound - upbeat inplaces, then somber moods, amazing flow.

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Jul 24 2026

Arcade Fire is quickly becoming one of my favorite bands!

Nevermind by Nirvana
Jul 27 2026

This hits the same today as it did freshman year. It takes me back to my angsty years and makes me feel the blood in my veins again. So many more references to guns than I remember... 20/20 hindsight, and all that.. Amazing hidden gems like "Territorial Pissings" and "Polly" make this album a 5-star rave.

Abbey Road by Beatles
Jul 28 2026

There is a reason all music is compared to the Beatles - music is born here. Original lyrics, natural harmonies, and clever chord progressions create a beautiful mix of art and science. If you're already a Beatles fan, you can hear the individuals behind the band. If not, the eclectic genre blending is a gift to the new listener.

Deloused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta
Jul 29 2026

A little She Wants Revenge influence with a hint of Muse but no heart. Unpleasant guitar interludes and high-speed impact vocals trying to bring something new to the 2000's sound. The attempts at psychedelic sounds just come off as noise.

Stephen Stills by Stephen Stills
Jul 30 2026

Folk, funk, blues, and classic rock sounds throughout the album, creating an overall good listen. Epic guitar solo in Go Back Home.

Ctrl by SZA
Jul 31 2026

Honest, sad...SZA has a beautiful voice! Her range is exquisite and tone quality is heartbreaking. I can appreciate the cultural references, even if I can't relate; her voice conveys the pain, joy, passion, anger - you feel everything along with her.

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Aug 03 2026

90% of the songs sound the same, blending one song into the next with nothing distinctive to make the listener take notice. There is an overarching theme of criminal activity throughout the album lyrics. It's depressing and unimaginative. I was bored and confused for the entirety of the album.

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Aug 04 2026

Definitely sounds of it's time with funk, soul, and a little of the tail end of Motown with songs like, "Why Did She Have To Leave Me" and "Hey Girl". Overall, this album was an enjoyable listening experience.

Something/Anything? by Todd Rundgren
Aug 05 2026

This album is full of musical gems! Moody love songs, outrageous rock numbers, heartfelt stories, a beautiful instrument piece, and a spoken highlight reel that adds to the character and appeal to this artfully crafted release.

Bitte Orca by Dirty Projectors
Aug 06 2026

Disjointed noise attempting something artistic and accomplishing little more than a migraine. 1 or 2 songs with any redeeming musical quality on the entire album. Overall, this album was painful to listen to.

Heroes by David Bowie
Aug 07 2026

Haunting instrumentals, catchy rhythms, and a certified iconic rock song make up this legendary album. I could listen to this all day. In fact, I'm going to listen to it again right now.

Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
Aug 10 2026

Simply amazing. Moody melodies and hypnotic rhythms throughout. From languid jazz to standards and country classics to exotic tangos, Norah Jones delivers a once in a lifetime musical experience with the voice of an angel.

Odelay by Beck
Aug 11 2026

A combination of funky rhythms and clever lyrics, Beck's music is uniquely creative and meant to be played LOUD. Infectious beats and the sampling is perfection. "I am the Enchanting Wizard of Rhythm."

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Aug 12 2026

Poetry set to a reggae beat, for 11 tracks. The lyrics tell deep, sad stories but the music just keeps going with the same monotonous rhythm.

Rattus Norvegicus by The Stranglers
Aug 13 2026

An odd combination - lyrics and keyboards reminiscent of The Doors, the punk sensibility of the Sex Pistols, with a hint of new wave pop to get people dancing. I'm terrified and intrigued.

Groovin' by The Young Rascals
Aug 14 2026

Love the album cover art! Excellent use of horns, acoustic guitar, and more rare musical instruments like the harp, tambourine, and slide whistle. They played with the "new" stereo technology of 1967, giving the listener a new way to experience the sound. Pleasant harmonies and real-life, relatable lyrics. Favorite track - A Place in the Sun.

Blur by Blur
Aug 17 2026

The 90's British Invasion was some kind of rock nostalgia movement that was more of a miss than a hit. There's something classic yet edgy in Blur's sound, however nothing really remarkable beyond the commercial tune "Song 2".
