This is an album I'm surprised hasn't been a bigger part of my life. You look good on the dance floor and when the sun goes down have been on many a playlist of mine though. Living in the UK has given me a better understanding of this band and where their sound comes from "you're from new York city I'm from Rotherham" "I can't see through your fake tan" Strong start 8/10

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Aug 29 2026

For my five start ranking I am going to rank these albums not by how "good" they are but by how much I would personally return to them. Since every album on this list is special,in some way it seems like a better metric by which to rank them. Alongside this album I read the extensive hendrix wiki, and songs like voodoo childe really enhanced that experince. A classic for a reason, but not necesserially something I'd reach for day to day

Private Dancer by Tina Turner
Aug 29 2026

I enjoyed this album so much more than I expected to! Tina is someone I am familiar with conceptually but have not spent much time with. Her powerful voice cuts through the mid 80s production! (Also reminds me of David and Alastair Weir's wedding with the TT drag queen flown in from Spain

Moving Pictures by Rush
Aug 30 2026

The instrumentals are absolutley amazing, but the vocals aren't my thing. They kind of fade into the background as I focus in on that amazing rickenbacker bass tone

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Aug 31 2026

This album is one of my most listened to from my teenage years, feelings of new love, electric organ, Pharrell, Andre 3000, Earl, what else is there to say?

The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Sep 01 2026

This is classic 90's west coast hip hop, but sadly I am an east coast man.

High Violet by The National
Sep 02 2026

What a great record. I listened to it on a roadtrip Greg and Lara from new concord to chicago to visit Sara and John and it was such a great trip with a stopover in rural Indiana. I still owe money to the money to the money I owe

Back to Basics by Christina Aguilera
Sep 03 2026

The vocals are amazing on this album, but the early 200s production and no switch up in musical style gives me a solar issue to what I ahd with the chronic, it feels a bit like I am listening to a single hour long Aguilera album

Sep 04 2026

This was an album I like conceptually. weird art rock is siemthing can get behind, but none of the songs stuck in my memory and the accapella got a bit grating.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Sep 05 2026

This is the first one I have not finished, I regret it as I see potantial, but some of the songs were a bit grating

Arular by M.I.A.
Sep 07 2026

This is an awesome album, so ahead of its time! Would feel right if it came out today. M.I.A is a treasure and I hope she stops flogging conspiracy theories
