It’s okay

I dearly appreciate the smoothness of Joni Mitchells vocals and how they intimately intertwine with the guitar and piano, but singing lines like "if you want me, I'll be in the bar" regarding the love interest of the author, then comparing him to a cocktail is so painfully uninteresting, stereotypical and boring that I can't help and roll my eyes on quite a substantial number of lyrics in this LP. Most of the songs are also quite literal, which does make it feel like that you're living through Joni Mitchell's experiences, but it, once again, lacks any rawness and depth. I get that it's tough to be a popular musician and it has it's fair amount of being "on a lonely road ... traveling, traveling, traveling, traveling", but I'm too unprivileged for it to resonate it with me or even to be viewed as a real barrier in terms of finding true love, so opening the album with this line didn't do any favours for me. Perhaps I'm too desensitised as a person, so I'm unable to experience such trivial feelings in the grandeur she describes, or I simply feel a jarring lack of subtlety that makes listening and engaging experience for me.

Really liked this one, it has a noticeably diverse range with great mixing and exciting cuts all around, though I find opening and closing couple of tracks to play a lot better than the middle part of the album. Beck is always a pleasure to listen and experience, but as much I I would like to love it, Guero left me wanting more.

Short, sweet, full of bangers

Not a fan of live albums… I feel that going to a show cannot be replicated, especially when it’s live jazz performances. But musically it’s basically flawless, yeah.

Classic, iconic riffs incredibly influential, what not to love? Well, Kashmir ruined a special moment for me, so there’s that…

I would honestly like to love this album, but it sounds so so so boring to me. While TVOTR remains one of my all-time favourites, I simply cannot fathom going through their albums due to simply how mentally exhausting it is to listen to. I recognise that at their time it was, allegedly, an innovative blend of sounds from all genres and so on, but is it one of the all-time greats? For me, absolutely not. The problem, as it often happens, is that at their best TVOTR would be second to none in their own experimental-noisy-dance-pop-rap-indie rock mix of genres, but they are rarely at their best.

Don’t like live albums… this one is fine, though. Audience cheers is a great pointer if a song was a banger 👍

Even on the million’s listen, it’s still as excited, creative, timeless and jaw-dropping, as it was on the first one.

Surprisingly didn’t find this one that interesting. Obviously the masterpiece that is “running up the hill”, but the rest is really bland…

No. Can’t separate art from the artist.

Great album, liked the inclusion of wide range of motifs and inspirations, which luckily doesn’t make it redundant or feel unoriginal.
