The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Sep 10 2026

I am not really a fan of The Smiths but lets go. I kinda like "I Know Its Over".. the song progresses and swells. Thats nice. I can see the appeal of this. Its not for me, though. It was kind of pleasant.. in one ear, out the other. It all kinda sounded the same, like how all your soup tastes the same when you use the same soup base. Its fine but we can do better. A 3, I'd give it a 2.5 if I could.

Station To Station by David Bowie
Sep 11 2026

I was hoping to hear more stuff like this. I know and dig Bowie, but I rarely engage with his albums. I am excited for this one. An auspicious start.. reminds me of some prog rock, just an instrumental vamp that grows over time. This is an incredible album. Funk, rock, but it sounds totally unique. Bowie is a true visionary on this one. You can HEAR IT, the author's voice. 5 out of 5, we cannot deny it.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Sep 14 2026

One of the great albums. I am ready a Radiohead fan. It was fun to revisit this one.

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Sep 15 2026

What an album. REALLY REALLY fun. I'd give it a 4.5 if I could. I was groovin the whole time, but nothing moved me behind my touchas.

Bad by Michael Jackson
Sep 16 2026

Ah man. I can't put my finger on why I don't like Michael Jackson. He insists upon himself, I guess. Hard to argue with how good this album is though. Quincy Jones producing, so its slaps AND bangs. Its a 3 for me though

25 by Adele
Sep 18 2026

This one is just not for me. I can hear how moving it is, but it didn't move me. I think I'm in the "broken hearts are for assholes" camp

Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
Sep 22 2026

I know a lot of these songs (particularly Four Women). But I hadn't heard them as an album. Really great stuff, as expected. A genius at work. 5 stars.

Superunknown by Soundgarden
Sep 23 2026

HERE WE GO, love Chris Cornell. I think I know the soundgarden hits but I'm pumped to listen to an album. This is more varied than I thought it would be. Very groove-heavy, of course it has beautiful, soaring vocals. I can really hear the Sabbath and Deep Purple influence on here. I was surprised by "Head Down". This is a really great rock and roll song, it goes on a little journey. That piece through The Day I Tried To Live feels like a unified event. Five stars.

Konnichiwa by Skepta
Sep 24 2026

Man this ain't for me. 1 star

Sep 25 2026

Well THIS is a delight. Reminds me a lot of Kruder & Dorfmeister, dZihan & Kamien. Sort of downtempo. Beautiful. This level of percussion is lush. I will listen to this again. 4 stars!

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Sep 28 2026

My goodness, what album. Too short!

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Sep 29 2026

So many hits, I had no idea. A really fun listen.

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Sep 30 2026

We just call it CBAT in this house. 5 stars.

Be by Common
Oct 01 2026

A very confident album. I think its hits from top to bottom? I vibed to it. 4 stars! Its not 5 stars for me.. I'd give it 4.5 if I could, but I can't

In Utero by Nirvana
Oct 06 2026

You know, its a good album. It was a game changer. I never liked it that much though.. in terms of grunge, it is not at the top of my list. 3

oh BROTHER.. the album STINKS. I'm coming in a little biased. I haven't heard this U2 album, though I am familiar with the singles from this record. That said, have listened to U2's earlier albums, and I think I'm pretty familiar. To me, Brian Eno is the star and I don't care for U2. No standouts here. Seems like they just felt like they needed to make another album and sharted out some bullshit. A few ideas that could use some baking. "Peace On Earth" is a good song. Its a "Live Laugh Love" album. There is nothing _wrong_ with that slogan, actually its good advice. But also, there is something lame about it and how it is displayed. I get the same feeling while listening to this album. Two stars for Eno.

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Oct 08 2026

A good album. Some real bangers in here. I am left wondering why I'm not listening to Santana or Stevie Ray Vaughn.. I know that is unfair in some way, but that is my opinion of this. A fun listen, thats a 3

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Oct 09 2026

Some New Wave! I liked that it had some different textures to it. It didn't feel like the same idea over and over. There is some prog rock-ish stuff, some folk-ish stuff. The back half is really nice. I enjoyed "Automatic" in particular. Its nice and short. A 3!

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Oct 12 2026

The album art here is for the UK version, but the link is for the US version. I listened to the US version. BOOM startin' off with Paint It Black. A classic, on an album of classics. Its a good little album. You can hear the blues, you can hear what they will become. I don't think I'll come back to it, except for the hits. A 3 I guess!
