1001 Albums Summary

Honestly, I never gave this album a fair shake and I regret that now. What a pinnacle for the band and what a sonic adventure end to end. Knowing the impact that this album had on so many of the bands I listen to today shows. Holy Moly an absolute ripper of an album. 5/5 easy peasy.

This was a really good example of bee soul music. Found myself enjoying the vocals and lyrics immensely.

The 1960s girl group inspiration absolutely evident here. The production by Ronson and Remi are out of the world and the vocals/lyrics of Amy really really shine. This clearly cemented Winehouse as an absolute powerhouse and visionary in the retro-soul movement. Such a bummer we couldn't see her evolve and experiment even more.

Pure 70s Bliss

This guy was a one man emo band without the screaming and heavy guitars, gotta say its pretty impressive.

I slept on this album after being absolutely press ganged by Hello. Adele is a vibe, she is a powerhouse, she will find you and she will belt out her song into your soul whether you like it or not. Godspeed to all who listen to this album, every arrangement is designed to showcase the vocal range and depth of this queen even if they are only minor keys.

Definitely an interesting record in the White Stripes catalog. The addition of the Marimba brings a really weird exotica quality to the tracks in which it features. For me its the standard White Stripes flair that I come to this album for: Blue Orchid, Little Ghost, and Red Rain. Overall a fun outing, but honestly not my personal favorite of their works.

Yes I am indeed Reelin in the Years, its Dirty Work but damn makes me feel like those Kings when I'm Midnite Cruising. This album slaps top to bottom, what an absolute banger of a debut for Steely Dan. I FINALLY feel I'm at an age where I can just get this and bask in its glow.

Chuck D, Flava, and Terminator are a force

Yeah I mean it's Prince honing the Minneapolis funk sound. My take aways from this listen is that The Revolution is one of the best backing bands probably in the history of music.

Put. The. Lime. In. The. Coconut.

Do I like Bjork? Honestly still don't know after all these years, Do I like this album? Not particularly. No shade to Bjork, this album is just not my cup.
