Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Sep 25 2026

Goodbye Baby - classic. Already can tell this is early rock and roll and much more my wheel house. Some great crooning , some great love songs. Could have been a little more Rock to the Soul, but overall classic and wonderful record.

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Sep 28 2026

Classic. I know it's good, but JM and Blue never 'do it' do it for me. If you love singer songwriters, it's a must. Has my wife's favorite song, even if she prefers it by another artist. over all A+

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Sep 29 2026

It has a couple solid songs, but nothing that blows me away and it won't be something i spend additional time with.

With The Beatles by Beatles
Sep 30 2026

Not the beatles album i'd expect on a limited album list, but still solid early beatles sure.

Oct 01 2026

Crazy energy. Some of flows are much better than i expected. On the other hand some of the lyrical topics can be pretty juvenile.

Brothers by The Black Keys
Oct 02 2026

feeling some recency bias and/or first album in my typical listening. That said, great album all the way through.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Oct 05 2026

as someone who was never a big doors or Jim Morrison fan, i enjoyed this album way more than i thought i would.

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Oct 06 2026

Not the album i would have picked out of Jack White's catalogue to go on a 'must listen to before you die' album list.

Oct 07 2026

Sounds like a pretty representative album of the genre. It's good, but not sure it's good enough to get past my bias against default country. Later tracks were enjoyable. I suppose it's not a bad cover of honky tonkin' though i like Van Zandt's more. Overall not a bad country album.

The Modern Dance by Pere Ubu
Oct 08 2026

Fantastic! The kind of album i was hoping for when signing up for this project. Not quite a perfect album, but interesting, rocking, and enjoyable. Will be something i revisit.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Oct 13 2026

everyone knows this isn't the fleetwood mac project you have to listen to before you die, and i'm not sure fleetwood mac deserves two spots on a list like this. it's an ok album.

2112 by Rush
Oct 15 2026

You have to respect the scifi opera in rock album ambition. Maybe not so much the wankery.

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Oct 16 2026

yep, that is indeed led zeppelin. would have went with IV.

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Oct 19 2026

remind me of Blue, like it's obviously good in that singer song writer way, but doesn't blow my top or anything.

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Oct 20 2026

'songs of my youth'. A catchy and solid album. Lot's of pop appeal.
