1001 Albums Summary

A lot of this made me cringe! Especially Kiedis’s rapping. But Flea is a killer bassist and Otherside and Californication still move me.

Icy, cryptic, and gorgeous. A perfect melange of alt-rock, electronic, and ambient.

Devastating, mournful, and life affirming. Made me tear up. Not an easy listen.

Possibly one of the dumbest albums ever and yet it works because it’s honest; being in your early 20’s is a barrage of unabashed stupidity AND fun.

Pretty bland but even plain white rice hits the spot sometimes. Still this is Coldplay at their most sincere

Quintessential Stripes. Gnarly guitar tone with quirky experimentation and top notch songwriting. Cut “Aluminum” and “Now Mary” and it gets full marks.

Marley Marl is the MVP. Timeless Boom Bap production. LL is supposed to sound “hard” but to modern ears he comes off a tad corny. The title track is fire.
