The Argument is the sixth and final studio album by American post-hardcore band Fugazi, released on October 16, 2001, by Dischord Records. It was recorded at Don Zientara's Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, Virginia, and the Dischord House between January and April 2001. It was the band's last release (simultaneously with Furniture) before going on hiatus in 2003, until the release of First Demo over thirteen years later. Upon release, The Argument was met with critical and commercial success. Many critics have called it the band's best album as well as one of the most important releases in the post-hardcore genre.

The Argument is the sixth album of Fugazi, their last one before they went on an indefinite hiatus in 2003. Compared to their debut and most famous album Repeater this one is far more subtle. Some of the anger and guitar violence has been accompanied or even replaced with melody. It still could be labeled as post-hardcore, though a very stretched version with piano, cello and acoustic guitar. Maybe it is their best album as it shows their full songwriting capabilities. Personally I like Repeater a bit better. Still this is a phenomenal album.

Always enjoy a Fugazi record.

Listened to a fair amount of this band in my college days, even saw them once in the First Avenue main room in Minneapolis. I didn't really follow the later (say post-In on the Kill Taker) career. I didn't dislike this and the sound went in some interestingly wierd directions but I kind of think they peaked at Repeater.

I mean it sure sounds like Fugazi

Fugazi is just east coast Red Hot Chili Peppers, but most of yall aren’t ready for that conversation

Can't really help but think that this is the bastard son of RHCP and the Butthole Surfers. It's alright.

Fugazi is good
