That voice needs a pregnancy warning and some great grooves, I imagine he must get sampled to death. Gets a bit wank with the 8 min spoken intro to By The Time I Get To Phoenix.
If you were to say this album kills I’d say “you’re bloody well right”.
I’m not chewing my face off in a club in the 90s, where this music fits in. It’s not really my bag in general and is very out of place in my ‘working from home on a wed morning’ playlist.
Really pleasantly surprised. The songs have great build and strike the balance of having strong core riffs to keep the song together while they get abstract AF but also the slow changes throughout the song mean they don’t get repetitive. Nice array of quirky sounds used throughout. Singing isn’t great, but I guess you can’t have everything.
What the album lacks in variety between the songs, it makes up with energy and catchy hooks. Still prefer Nimrod.
Their rock songs are definitely better than their country ones. Almost Cut My Hair is a frightening prospect.
Not bad, but not my bag. Nice to put my luscious locks to good use with some head banging. \m/

Gotta be a a fan of some Van the man, while you crack a can with dinner in the pan. Prefer his Astral Weeks album, but some classic tracks on this album
The best thing I can say about this album is that the music is better than the hideous cover art.....but that’s a low bar
Some nice rock/punk/Brit pop vibes but not life changing. Could defo enjoy lying out on some grass, smoking some grass and listening to Supergrass.

Some cool parts, but gets a bit lost in the spacey soundscapes at times.

Found it a bit raw and dark for my taste
Nah, I’m all good thanks
Decent but not life changing
Kind of interesting but will stick with The Wall and Dark Side as the sound tracks to my cosmic journeys.
Some quality songwriting, definitely adding to the ‘listen more’ pile
Not bad, but ilnot much variation between songs. Definitely got a bit stuck of the screamed “waaaaaahhhhhh!”
Not his best album for me, but what’s not to like
I had a rough night and I hate the fuckin eagles
I’ve never really given T.Rex a run, but should’ve Cos that’s some good shit right there
Nice background music, but won’t be featuring in my regular rotation
What’s not to love?
Seems to get lost trying to cram in a many weird sounds as possible
Ah not my type of music
Perfect music to brew beer to
It’s ok, but could’ve died without listening
Definitely caught me by surprise, good variation of songs and caught a Smiths vibe which I can always get around
Some nice covers.....the Canadian Tuxedo on the cover nearly earned her a bonus star.
Does really inspire me
I like Tom Waits but this album didn’t do it for me
Quite liked the grunge sound and some good songs there
