My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Kanye WestFuck Kanye.
Fuck Kanye.
Oh man I loved this movie. This is a wild album that is definitely bringing images from the movie into my head, but is still a really solid fascinating album all on it's own.
I love the opening fanfare. I want an opening fanfare at all times please. I’m not usually a huge fan of live albums, too much screaming from the audience and it doesn’t always flow as well as it would in person. James Brown is clearly playing to the audience and they are eating it up. This is fun, but I’d rather listen to a studio album from James Brown.
This album starts out sounding exactly like 1967. I’d probably be super into it if it had less of a horn section...
OOH. JONI MITCHELL Ah, this is where the that weird Christmas song is from.
Now I just feel like watching a bunch of movies...
Solid. Great guitar work. No idea before this that I Shot The Sheriff was an Eric Clapton song.
Fuck Kanye.
I know I’ve hear The Look of Love, but I couldn’t have pulled the band name ABC out of anywhere. Solid 80s album.
I’m not super into reggae so this didn’t quite do it for me.
Is this a song about shopping? Ok then. How 80s. Let's go to the mall! Oh now a song about a sugar daddy. Live your best life Pet Shop Boys. Overall, eh? It feels pretty repetitive. Probably not adding it to my rotation.
VERY 1985. I feel like I'm in an 80s drama. Now we're in smooth jazz? This album feels all over the place. Eh. Not really my jam.
Oof. Right off the bat it's a little more hardcore punk than I prefer. Closer to metal than I'd like. A lot of yelling. Yeah... not for me.
Fascinating music with an occasional side swipe of intense 90s pop.
This is a fun album.
I respect a three track album. This was a lot of fun.
Is this a song about TV dinners? Did I accidentally switch to a Weird Al album? Not quite my jam. The spotify radio that came on after the album was pretty solid though.
Some real classics in here. Ah... that loops lovely.
Oh man I loved this movie. This is a wild album that is definitely bringing images from the movie into my head, but is still a really solid fascinating album all on it's own.
Oh we're having a good old high school flashback with this album. Looking forward to what this does to my Spotify recommends.
I've never quite gotten the hype of Radiohead. I feel like I need better speakers than the crappy laptop ones to really appreciate this, but here we are.
YESSSSSSSSSSS. SHRED THAT GUITAR.
Very 80s. The spotify bio describes the artist as a grittier Prince. I see that to a point. Dude's got a lovely voice. It should be noted that this artist now goes by Sananda Maitreya.
A lot of jazz notes happening here. A lot of horns... Not a lot of vocals? Huh. "Seven Days Too Long" - No means no, Dexys Midnight Runners.
Not my cup of tea. Look, I get why a lot of angry teenagers discover RATM and are all in immediately. It is a strong (often misinterpreted, looking at you republicans...) message and certainly conveys the emotional side.
This was a rough day to catch up... Again, not my cup of tea. I am an indie rock girl at heart and I need to accept that. Too much yelling. Too much dissonance.
This was fun.
This feels like the most generic 80s music ever.
The first album I ever bought myself was not this one, but it was Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. This is a great flashback.
Oh no. This is the dumb wrestler's entrance music. Oh no. No wonder that song has over 82 million plays... This has colored this whole album... 80s rock isn't quite for me.
Eh.
This is A LOT. And I feel like I need to listen to it in my dad's basement with the good speakers and a glass of whiskey to fully appreciate it.
From the album cover I thought this was going to be death metal. Color me surprised.
