Bridge Over Troubled Water
Simon & GarfunkelIf you don’t like this. It’s because you don’t have ears

They don’t call this Birth of the Cool for nothing. What a fucking classic
Anyone who does not vote 5 stars on this masterpiece is a Communist and needs to be dealt with accordingly.
Clearly the more talented of the duo, Paul Simon’s “Graceland”, is an album where I can understand why his solo career was so successful. Albeit, this album isn’t my favorite musically, it’s evident that Paul Simon’s talent was on full display here. Bands like Vampire Weekend clearly draw influence from this album, however stylistically just not my thing. Drawing influence from an African style, Louisiana jazz and all the accordion you can handle, this album makes its mark as one of Simon’s better solo offerings.
Love this. It’s about as Tom Waits as you can get. I’m partial to “Small Change”, which is far and away my favorite Waits album it sits right in the middle of my favorite Waits years (73-85), the very beginning of his discography. It’s raw, bluesy, gritty, powerful, and has that Waits twist so common of that era. He takes some getting use to, but all in all, a fantastic listen.
Enjoyed this. Didn’t know what to think at first. Was way better than I would have imagined. I’m not familiar with any other work he’s done, but this has intrigued me to delve a little further.
Classic Beasties. About as good as it gets in that bizarre genre they pretty much created. Fun, energetic, but I think I’ve listened to this album enough over my lifetime to not ever have to again.
Musically sound, very intricate. You forget just how talented this group is. Not my favorite Genesis album, but definitely one most prog-rock Genesis fans would love.

Very peak Metallica. It’s not my favorite Metallica album, but there are some great songs. Musically you can hear the classical training on songs like “To Live is to Die”, which I could have listened to 9 minutes of the intro. Up there as one of their better albums, for sure
I could appreciate this album, and all that Joni Mitchell is/was to the soundscape of the singer/songwriter. It wasn’t totally my cup of tea. I enjoyed it, but wouldn’t listen again.
Like this one way more than I thought I would. Typical bluesy dad rock, but still fun. I could put this on in the background while I do something else and I think it would help me stay focused.
Always love a little Frank. This one was an album I had never heard. It was a nice alternative from his typical big band sound, and had a more stripped down “island” sound. My main issue was that a lot of the songs sound the same. Other than that, a fantastic album from the Chairman himself.
I have this one on vinyl, so I put it on the platter and gave it a listen. All in all, a good album. There are some really good tunes on here, “Father and Son” being one of them. I can see how/why this album made this list

I can see how/why this would be such a groundbreaking album upon release. Behind its chart topping Nothing Compares 2U, this album was a smash success for its time. I do feel like it paved the way for artists like Tori Amos, who in my opinion, did this genre way better. But it wasn’t a bad listen at all. One of those I have always meant to get around to, but never thought I would.
This was a fun one to explore. Big fan of jazz and while I love my jazz to be “unstructured” from time to time, there is nothing more satisfying than a properly laid out jazz tune. Enjoyable from start to finish.
Fun, eccentric, Brit pop at peak Brit pop. I enjoyed this. A good pick me up in the morning. Nothing groundbreaking or awe inspiring but I could see where MGMT drew some influence. I could almost hear them in some of these songs.
Liked this far more than expected. Always wanted to dive into a little Iggy Pop and this did not disappoint. I’d actually give this a listen again sometime soon.
Enjoyed this one. I can see the hype with why everyone respected PE and what they brought to the table in the early days of hip hop and rap.
What a fun listen. I mean, for fans of this stuff. It’s not my favorite Pantera album. That goes to Far Beyond Driven, but this one is a powerhouse in its own right. What a hard hitting, in your face, fuck you if you don’t like me collection of songs. One of the better ones on this list so far!!!
Not going to lie. Expected to poo poo on this one. I NEED to be in a NY mood and I was NOT yesterday. Surprisingly, this was beyond expectations and actually PUT me in a Neil Young mood. I am a lyrics guy, stripped that from my normal listening routine and really enjoyed this one.
I just can’t
Always a fun listen. Nothing ground breaking, but I always enjoy this one. An easy “toss on in the background” album
Fucking brilliant
Love this one.
I’ve been a fan of this band for a long time, but I’ll be honest, it was more from a Greatest Hits album I found as opposed to the actual albums (Album of the Year withstanding, that’s a great one). This did not disappoint. The opening three tracks are killer, it flows from there. Really enjoyed this one and will explore more of their discography
Some real gems on here. Also, some not so quality material. Always liked this album, but Lennon’s solo material for me is not his best work. This is no exception.
Was a good change of pace for my day. Musically pleasing, but not something I think I’d seek out on my own, or ever again. It’s not that I didn’t enjoy it, I’m just sure there is so much more out there I have yet to discover.
I know TGFOS’s main hits and a little of his lesser known stuff, but this was a good intro to his soul years, and live nonetheless. Enjoyed this one, but wasn’t a massive fan. Might revisit. Might not.
My least favorite of his, but still a classic.
Too many skits and interludes kept this from being a full 5 stars. Love this album. LOVE this album, but every time I listen I hit skip at least 7 times. That shouldn’t be the case.
They don’t call this Birth of the Cool for nothing. What a fucking classic

C’mon now. This is solid gold.
What a musical masterpiece. Really loved this one.
Well. Wanted to like this. I love her voice and her popular songs are catchy as shit, but the rest of the album was just, meh. Wasn’t really wowed, but also didn’t hate it. Just, MEH
This was a good record. Not my favorite, but I didn’t dislike it. Probably wouldn’t listen again, but I can see the influence it has on a lot of artists of that time.
I have to be in the mood for Lou Reed and this one always puts me there whether I want it to or not. Such a good album. Not a classic, but very very good.
A fucking + Love this one. Gold was the album that made me fall in love with his music, but this one made me open my eyes and say “Holy SHIT”!
5 stars, would repeat
Really well done. I think this was a good follow up to her stellar debut. Lorde is legit.
About as cheesy as one can expect, but full of classic songs
Love this album, always feels like a tropical escape. Great songs, wonderful feeling I get from it. All in all fantastic for an album where I don’t understand a single word.
Actually really enjoyed this one. Good music to do shit to.
I’m sorry, 20 seconds into the first song, I couldn’t stop laughing. I have a good tolerance for nonsense, but seriously?
Otis Redding could sing K-Pop, Rap or Country, doesn’t matter to me, he’s the MAN.
Fan of Muddy, and really enjoyed this one. Always like a good blues album, and Muddy is one of the best.
All in all, a fantastic album. Are You Experienced is the quintessential Hendrix album, but I’ll be dammed if Axis isn’t just as good. Always liked this one when I was younger, and that opinion has not changed.
This wasn’t bad, but I wasn’t in the mood for it either. I enjoyed what I heard, but getting into it was very difficult. Might revisit. Might not.
This is an album that I will defend as actually being very good. I’ve enjoyed every listen, and I got this by accident a few years back as I forgot to cancel my VMP membership and it shipped. Listened then and liked it, so I will keep listening and liking it.
In my opinion, their best start to finish work. I’ve always liked this one, based upon the hits, but there are also a few duds along the way.
Not one of my favorites by him. I know it’s a critically acclaimed one, but just not one that I hold in high regard.
I’ve always liked this one. It’s actually a gem among their earlier stuff.
Yes always puts out some impressive music, this was about as par for the course for them as can be.
The Stones at their best. This was in the middle of 4 of their best albums, and it’s up there as one of the best of those. Just perfect in every way.
Very good album by a very good Beatle. Thought I had this on vinyl, was disappointed when I looked and I didn’t. In relistening, I remembered how much I enjoyed this.
This one is so deep and really a great listen when you’re in the mood for it. Not a very uplifting album, but unique in its own way

Enjoyed this way more than I expected. Aerosmith usually has hits and shits on their albums. This was pretty solid all the way thru.
