The Modern Lovers
The Modern LoversI found this hard going. Had to stop 4 times and go back to it in order to finish. Meandering, turgid, I really don't understand the appeal of any of this. Not for me.

It's like they've taken all the bits of hair metal that I like and dropped the bits I don't like.
Brilliant. Bossa Nova to the Max!
It's like the Pixies, but not. 1992 so that's about right. I'll give it a three.
A lot more psychedelic than i expected. Lots of nice picky accoustic stuff like Leo Kotke then goes to space-age psych. Not sure it works together as a coherent album, but whatever... it was an enjoyable listen.
It's probably been 20 years since I listened to a Hendrix album all the way through. Some real gems there like 'Love or Confusion'. I'll make a point to come back to this.
A real party album. Not really what I was looking for, but I can see the appeal.
Do I have to? Really? I can't stand this album, personally. Spun it a lot when I was younger, but as the years go by I just can't separate what I know about it and how it sounds. The manufactured pop of punk. Yeah.
Never listened to The Fall before. I can see mclusky getting some inspiration from here.
Its just not my jam.
This was okay, but not my favourite Talking Heads album.
Very enjoyable
It's fine, but it's like Robert Plant without LZ. Vocals are too much for me personally. Maybe I'd like the folk-era Buckley better.
Just need to say that this album sounds so clean.
Somehow i've never knowingly listened to echo and the bunnymen. maybe at an indie club night or something. there's quite a lot of interesting music in there, but the sound isn't something that appeals to me much.

Great!
It starts pretty strong but kinda fades out.
It's fine.
Amazing
not for me.
It's okay. I can see the impact they had.
For some reason I thought The The were a prog rock band. But it seems like standard 80s pop. Pretty listenable but not sure if I'd spin it again.
It's proper country. Too country for me, probably.
One of his best.

Bob Dylan is an undeniable talent and legendary song-writer. But I've always struggled with his vocals.
This album is great. I used to think it was the weakest of their albums, but listening to it now years later I think it is really strong. Definitely worth a re-listen.
Some people shit on the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It's not really my thing, but I think it's really good pop music.
It's great, like diet Shellac
Brilliant. Bossa Nova to the Max!
It is absolutely appropriate for the band to be called The Cool.
Pretty good, great musicianship. Definitely prog but more to the rock side. Enjoyable listen and I'll probably try out their outher stuff. 4/5

Meh.
Hadn't heard this particular album before. Standard BB faire, pretty decent. 4/5
Don't really have anything to say. 5/5
Really funky, good tunes there. 4/5
Hadn't ever listened to Doves before. Nice sound, and the music isn't boring, but I guess it doesn't catch me. Pleasant enough though.
Started off not liking it and almost thought it was a joke. But by mid-way it started to catch on. I'll definitely give it another spin.
Didn't actually listen to it, but there are few albums I know better. I listened to this at least twice per day for two years until I got my hands on a copy of In Utero (CDs were expensive for teenagers in the late 90s). It's a good album, still stands up well. But compared to the other Nirvana albums it's my least favourite.
P. good.
This was a real gem. Hadn't heard of her before (though had heard a few of the songs).
It was okay.
Struggled to get through this. Some Smiths songs are alright, but this seems to be an unfocussed mess to me. Not even sure if Morissey is working on the same tunes as the band. But I guess this meandering of melody and tempo is what draws people to it. Definitely not me though.

A lot of fun!
