Forever Changes
Love
The opening track did not hook me, I was reminded of "YMCA" by "The Village People", and not in a good way.
The second grabbed me instantly. The darker lyricism expressed in "A House is not a Motel" paints a dim view of '67.
The album somewhat regresses from there, the tracks undulate between grating or uninteresting, and complex earworms. Overall, an interesting album, but I'm not interested in listening to any song other than "A House is not a Motel".

Let's Get It On
Marvin Gaye
"Let's Get It On" is undeniably groovy, instantly recognizable, warm, and cozy. The title track is iconic, but the rest of the album fails to capitalize on the strong start. The ensuing tracks are fairly one note, this might be artistically uninteresting, but on the other hand, you keep wanting to dance. Overall, I wouldn't ever go out of my way to put it on, but while it's spinning, I'm grooving.

It's just solid. Some of the songwriting is excellent, some not so much. Without much surprise my favorite song ("Only a Hobo") was written by Bob Dylan.
I don't think there's much to revisit here, other than "Only a Hobo", but I liked it.

Blue suede shoes is a bop. Tutti Fruity slaps. The rest of the tracks don't come very close to they quality of those two. Generally good though, Elvis has a great voice. Even though there really aren't any interesting themes, it's a solid record.

Maybe revolutionary in its day, but it does not hold up for me. It could be a victim of its own success, creating an oft copied formula, once a bright shining star, but now it just blends in with the streetlamps.

Frank Sinatra
I've been generally cynical so far in my reviews. Maybe I'm star-struck by the name "Sinatra", but I don't think so. This album is excellent. A majority of songs really land with me, taking me on a slow dance, emotion rising and falling, all the while comforted by Sinatra's sultry voice.
Best album so far.

It was fine, not memorable for me. I just listened to the album and I'm struggling to critique the record because it just slipped right through my ears.

The instrumentals were great, branching out into a new style for me. Had great feeling.

This isn't going to go well. Given his more recent political leanings, some of the lyrics are pretty progressive. Although, it's not surprising that most of this record is very bad. This sounds like something white dads think is hard or heavy.
To be honest, the first two songs hit me like a nostalgia truck. "New Rock Radio" standards that played all through my youth. But even those were not good, just drilled into my subconscious. The rest of the album doesn't even have that, it a'int good.

I liked this one a lot. It was really ethereal and spacy. It didn't have any "bangers" but I did look forward to listening to it.

This is squarely my vibe.
I liked the themes. I liked the tone for the most part. There wasn't a specific song that I loved, and at a few points I felt it dragged. This is going to be a 3 star, but a high 3. For sure the best 3 star so far.

A classic.
This record is really good. Its been a staple in my discography for a long time. An essential punk album that pulls no punches. I will say that it might be a little overhyped just because Kurt Cobain had them on his list of favorite bands, but it's still mega quality.

Really solid, I liked everything I heard, but it didn't fully pull me in. This will likely be a forgotten gem for me.

Love the first song. Hard, but not too hard. This album's influence can be found all through out punk and hardcore I think. It gets really weird, not in a good way, at the end.

This album is a quintessential 90's record. The poppy upbeat vibe just resonates with me. Most every song has me grooving at my desk, and singing along.
There's a heavy dose of nostalgia to this one as well, but I'm trying to temper it as much as I can. Still this one is a gem.

This is great. It's super funky and happy. I'm really grooving. Wow, what a revelation. I really liked how this record blended poppy and experimental. I find that there's usually one or two songs on albums this old that really do not age nicely, but I didn't feel that with this one.

Yet another surprise for me. This one grabs me immediately with big noise. It follows up with fast and medium hard sound that really keeps me interested. For '88 this seems like a really groundbreaking album.
