Popular Reviews

Smash by The Offspring

I forget how good this is. Messy mid-90's skate punk, the stuff that got me properly into exploring music

Ramones by Ramones

Stone cold classic. Messy, scrappy and as punk as you like. Fun from start to finish

Graceland by Paul Simon

Weirdly country-ish and totally rubbish. Don't like his voice, the music is both nuts and terrible. No idea what's going on.

Big stuff. Until this album I'd never found music that really grabbed me, but this sold me on guitar and rock n' roll

Odelay by Beck
Jun 21 2021

Unoffensive but uninteresting. A bit too "quirky" at times, so I couldn't really stick with it.

All Mod Cons by The Jam
Jun 22 2021

Great bass and some cool punk moments but the mod stuff isn't really my thing. I wouldn't complain if this was on but wouldn't choose to have a long listen. Glad it didnt have those overplayed singles on though

Liege And Lief by Fairport Convention
Jun 23 2021

Not completely un-likeable, but definitely not my thing. I like a lot of folk and this has some good grooves and chilled bits, but it's a bit TOO folk. It sounds like Maypoles and dancing in circles on LSD.

Jun 24 2021

Really not my cup of tea at all. This just sounded like noise. Is it experimental? Just boring and messy to me.

Graceland by Paul Simon

Weirdly country-ish and totally rubbish. Don't like his voice, the music is both nuts and terrible. No idea what's going on.

I forget how good this is. Messy mid-90's skate punk, the stuff that got me properly into exploring music

Scott 2 by Scott Walker
Jun 30 2021

Sounds like a mix of TV themes and hotel lobby music. Cracking voice and big orchestral sounds, but not my sort of thing.

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Jul 01 2021

Half the tracks here would be decent background music for a Cyberpunk game. The other half don't really go anywhere and don't have much going for them.

Risque by CHIC
Jul 02 2021

Not bad music, but not my cup of tea. Some great basslines though

Jul 05 2021

Big stuff. Until this album I'd never found music that really grabbed me, but this sold me on guitar and rock n' roll

Superfuzz Bigmuff by Mudhoney
Jul 06 2021

This dirty, messy garage punk makes me want to buy another Big Muff pedal. This album was fun, and short enough that it didn't outstay its welcome like some bands like this

Beach Samba by Astrud Gilberto
Jul 08 2021

Music from a coastal driving montage in an Audrey Hepburn film, or from the make-up section of House of Fraser. Catchy and summery

Midnight Ride by Paul Revere & The Raiders
Jul 09 2021

Very cool early-Beatles sort of thing. Catchy and fun. I could happily listen to this any day

Ramones by Ramones
Jul 12 2021

Stone cold classic. Messy, scrappy and as punk as you like. Fun from start to finish
