I liked this one. Had a lot of songs I'd already heard before, but never consciously new were by them or from this album.
Already listened to this one while going through Rolling Stones top 100 albums of all time a few years ago before they did the recent update. It's great, but I still like the Beach Boys better than the Beatles 🤷🏾♀️
this didn't grab me in any way. it was fine, but it just sounded like a period of time.
I didn’t hate this one actually a lot of good songs and I was surprised how many I’d already heard. Name of the album and the album cover is pretty cool.
obviously not my first listen, but this was a lot better than i remembered it. I keep 'Alright' in pretty standard rotation and always remembered loving "i", but not the album version. wish it wasn't this live rendition for that song on this album
I looked the album up and it seems to be revered so I get that people like it but for me the girl's voice is off key I couldn’t enjoy it, I think maybe someone else should’ve sang the songs, or vocal lessons should've been demanded.
The Happening
The end of this song got me and then I went back and relistened and yeah this is a banger. I like the album overall but don’t know that’d I’d play it regularly. But this one song made it to playlists. Had it on repeat all day.
I watched a video of them performing it and read the comments. Apparently the lead singer and the woman in the band, Kim, had beef? This literally all happened when I was 1 years old, but decades later it's fascinating getting into it all. Probably one of my favorite parts of doing this project.
idk what it is about him, but i just can never fully get with Q-Tip. Just like with most things I've experienced from him, there are a lot of good things, a lot to like. But it's never the whole thing. Just parts of this song, or this approach, but not the subject matter.
i can't lie, i don't think folk music is for me. that one song that sounded like harmonizing frogs was on and i stopped at the light and the dude driving the car next to me looked at me like i was crazy. i didn't even realize i was bumping it like that. never need to hear this again.
didn't mind this one, i really liked Backdrifts, The Bloaming, and There, there
this grew on me. im surprised i'd never took the time to listen to this. for some reason lupe has just never been my favorite. i've liked some songs, i've liked some verses, but could never get with him totally. i still feel the same after this, but i did add quite a few songs to playlists so that's something!
i didn't really LOVE anything until the last song. but it was all like solid. idk not usually what i would listen to any way.
good bbq/cookout, sunday cleaning music.
the last two tracks of the album, saving a prayer and chauffeur, were my favs but i wasn't miserable during the songs before. this was funkier than i expected. i've heard of the band, but wasn't sure what it would sound like. the cover gave me nothing, no hints.
i've never heard of this band or album. they have three black people on their album cover, so i was confused to find out they were not that. but i let it go, and then i heard "i was huntin for n--gas down in the dark" and on another song "left the n**** lying dead by the river." don't think i was ever gonna love this one.
i was expecting this to sound totally different based on the genre, album title, name of the band, everything, but it was actually really nice! i loved 'Inner Flight' and really like Come Together.
damn my first Yeah Yeah Yeahs album. I don't even know if I've ever even heard a song by them, but damn this was amazing. No skips really, but Rich, Date w/the night, No no no, and Y Control really stood out to me.
like a few songs on this, but over all it felt like 6 different albums. A lot of the songs sounded like he was making his version of someone else songs. I feel like he was in search of his voice and he was searching for it by trying on others' voices.
Not usually the type of music I'd listen to, but not totally out of my league. Apredendo a jogar stood out.
this one didn't touch me. nothing really stood out
didn't hate but noting stood out. played like BG music for me
I was really digging this. it was giving me early Beach Boys but with Girls too.
this one was ok! never heard of these folks. will prob not listen again as nothing made it to a playlist
I liked it as bg music, but i like other songs by them better than what i heard here.
i listened to this at my standing desk so it had me moving a bit but will likely never hear again
crazy how much led zep im getting. i just get led zep ll a few albums ago. I think I liked this one better, but not by a lot. i thought the album cover was interesting though. wanted to know why they chose it.
this felt long, which isn't a good sign for an album lol
Never heard of this band or album, but enjoyed. Listened twice.
first listen, don’t think I’m in the space to really care for this project right now. I did enjoy the last song, which was the only song I’d heard from it before
